Alpine Adventure in Courchevel

Henna who works in our marketing team recently took to the slopes of Courchevel, trading rainy London for the three valleys…

Visiting Courchevel, one of the most glamorous resorts in the Alps, was every bit as breathtakingly beautiful as I had expected (if not more). Our trip took us through some absolutely stunning scenery, made all the more luxurious with the Scott Dunn treatment at our home for the week, the ultra modern Chalet Le R.

During my recent trip my friends and I were lucky enough to have some lessons with the experts Aaron and Nick from Supreme Ski School. They renewed my confidence in my (more than a little) rusty snowboarding skills, as they guided us down the slopes. I was also grateful for the tips and techniques they taught us to help us make the most out of our day.

Whether you are a skier or snowboarder, Courchevel has it all

Whether you are a skier or snowboarder, Courchevel has it all

There is a vast ski area in Courchevel which covers all levels of skiing so Aaron and Nick gently eased us into more and more challenging runs which really helped develop our skills and make it more fun. Described as the ultimate skier’s playground, the excellent lift system in Courchevel means you have easy access to Meribel and Val Thorens, which greatly extends the ski area.

After the morning’s snowboarding we stopped off for lunch at a gorgeous restaurant called La Soucoupe, located on the slopes (at 2250m altitude) and we served the most delicious food and wine. We enjoyed a few hours of relaxation by the fire while admiring the amazing mountain views before getting back to the slopes.

After a satisfyingly active day return to your sumptuous chalet and relax by the pool to revel in the day’s pursuits.  We were lucky enough to stay at Chalet Le R, a contemporary new addition to the Scott Dunn collection in Courchevel 1550. Chalet Le R has a superb wellness area, complete with private swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna where you can unwind, all whilst being taken care of by your host and private chef. Feast on incredible food after a action-packed day on the slopes.

Alternatively, Courchevel has a lot to offer if you prefer to go out to dinner at one of the Michelin restaurants with a few cocktails in the luxurious hotels in the area. Known for its chic style, Courchevel is a playground for the rich and the famous, so remember to pack your best suits and dresses with you. A ski holiday in Courchevel truly is one to remember.
