Today your Amalfi Coast adventure begins. On arrival at Naples Airport, your private driver will meet and transfer you to Casa Angelina, a beautiful modern property in Praiano, the town nearest to Positano. Upon check-in to your suite, order an Aperol Spritz and sit on your private balcony to enjoy the view. Cap off the day with dinner at Ristorante Max, one of Gray’s favorite restaurants. Day 2 - Positano
This morning- head out with a private guide to walk the famous Path of the Gods through some of the Amalfi Coast’s most stunning scenery. Step back in time as you trek through charming towns, hidden caves, coastal forests and along ancient mule routes. Look down on the view and imagine what photograph Gray would take if he were there with you. In the evening, head to drinks and dinner at Ristorante Le Terrazze. During your delicious Mediterranean inspired dinner, you’ll overlook the beach and town of Positano and instantly recognize the iconic view from Gray’s photograph Positano Vista and the cover of his book ITALY, which he captured from the restaurant’s cocktail patio. After dinner, dance the night away at the epic Music on the Rocks nightclub.
Day 3 - Praiano & Positano
Spend your last day in the area enjoying Casa Angelina and the towns of Praiano and Positano at your leisure. Depending on your interests, our travel experts can arrange unique private experiences on this day including Italian cooking classes with an expert chef, a ceramic making workshop with a local artist or even a helicopter ride soaring over the Amalfi’s steep cliffs and sparkling turquoise seas. In the evening, have cocktails and dinner at the beautiful Il San Pietro hotel. While relaxing on the deck, take in the view to Positano and see where Gray shot Il San Pietro Vista, Positano. From here, look down at the seaside deck below with vibrant creamsicle-colored pool chairs and umbrellas, contrasting beautifully with the azure waters. Spend the rest of the evening soaking up the atmosphere of this iconic town and preparing for the adventure to come.
Day 4 - Praiano & Capri
Depart Praiano today on an exclusive boat with your own personal skipper for the day. Sail along the coastline, ending at the beautiful island of Capri. This island is Gray’s favorite destination to relax in all of Italy. While en route, capture the scenery and the many beach clubs that dot the shore. You’ll surely recognize the iconic peppermint striped umbrellas from Gray’s photograph, Amalfi Candy Cane Umbrellas, the vantage point where Gray captured the locals in his photo Amalfi Beach, as well as the tiny town of Atrani from some of Gray’s photos like Atrani, Amalfi Coast. You’ll stop at a quaint pebble beach hidden in a sheltered cove and the town of Nerano for lunch at Lo Scoglio, Gray’s favorite restaurant in Italy, and also where Gray captured Nerano Orange Umbrellas. In the evening, head to dinner at Aurora, another of Gray’s beloved restaurants on the island.
Day 5 - Capri
Begin your second day on Capri by visiting Anacapri and the gardens of Villa San Michele. While here, make sure to stop at the locals’ favorite beach club, Lido del Faro. You’ll likely see Italian children cannonballing off rocks into the sea below, just like Gray did when he was shooting the image Capri. Then head to the eastern side of the island following the narrow footpath until you reach La Fontelina Beach Club where Gray shot The Overlook, La Fontelina. Relax in the sun under the iconic blue umbrellas, represented in Gray’s image: La Fontelina Loungers. La Fontelina is also home to an incredible, authentic Italian seafood restaurant. You’ll be treated to fresh pasta, seafood and refreshing sangria, all paired with spectacular views.
Day 6 - Capri & Ravello
Upon your departure from Capri, you will enjoy another full day on a private boat, visiting the Green Grotto, the Blue Grotto and the White Grotto. This is the best way to immerse yourself in the mesmerizing marine world of storied sea caves and secret inlets. Your captain can lead you to the best hidden beaches and to see all the highlights of this incredible island. On the horizon you’ll spot three steep cliffs that jut out of the water, the famous Faraglioni rocks. You may recognize this lovely vista from previous days. Heading towards (and under) the archway of the rocks you will see Gray’s shot Afternoon Ride, Capri. Finally, check in to the beautiful Palazzo Avino in the hilltop town of Ravello. For dinner and drinks, go next door to the stunning Belmond Hotel Caruso. End with a walk around the hotel’s beautiful infinity pool and catch the exact vantage where Gray shot Ravello Vista.
Day 7 - Ravello
This will be the final full day of your trip. To get the most out of it, embark on a delicious journey of Italian wines with a passionate local sommelier. Discover the delights of full-bodied reds, crisp and complex whites and fragrant rosés produced in the region. Next, tour the ornate grounds of Villa Cimbrone, a glamorous villa built in the 11th century, restored in the early 20th century, and now open to the public for tours. Its extensive gardens provide breathtaking panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast. Make sure to step onto the famed Infinity Terrace, where Gray shot his photo Pink Flowers, Ravello. Soak up the last of the Amalfi Coast and relish in the photographs you have taken, whether in Gray’s style or creating your own.
