Laguna Beach has a year-round climate. Summer (June - September) is the peak-tourist season, this is when the weather is hottest but beaches can be over crowded. January and February are the rainiest months. If you are visiting in May, June or July, watch out for the 'marine layer', a cloudy overcast, almost fog-like cloud which may affect the beach and first mile or so of the coastal strip, especially in the mornings.
The Montage at Laguna Beach is one of those places where you feel as if you have arrived - the service is immaculate, the ocean views to die for, and the artistic community of Laguna Beach just the place for boutique, gallery browsing and fine dining.
Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Orange County's stylish Laguna Beach midway between Los Angeles and San Diego. With a Forbes 5 star rating, the Montage is the epitome of sophisticated charm and attentiveness.
The Montage's 250 rooms and suites offer turn-of-the-century décor with soft colours, dark wood and Early California artwork. Fine touches include feather top beds with 400-thread-count bed linens and goose down pillows, a private ocean-view balcony or patio, luxurious terry towels, plush robes, and a 5-fixture marble bath with large shower and deep soak tub. Internet access, flat-screen television, and DVD/CD players all ensure that rooms are technically wired to meet all needs.
The Studio, the Montage's signature restaurant, is a light, art-filled room with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the Mediterranean landscape, and offers classic French cuisine with Californian touches under Head Chef Craig Strong, and there are more than 2,000 wine labels from which to choose. Outside of the Montage, Laguna Beach offers great dining options among them 230 Forest, Alessa, Broadway and Mastro’s Ocean Club.
Opportunities abound for guests to take in the breathtaking setting, which includes four pristine white sand beaches, 30 acres of lush landscaping, an impeccably manicured park overlooking the ocean, and marine tide pools. Three sparkling swimming pools include the oceanfront mosaic-tiled, infinity-edged pool, a Spa Montage lap pool, and a children's pool.
At the spa, you can re-connect with yourself through the ocean's bounty, and mineral-rich seaweed and salt infusions are used to infuse botanical treatment products with elements the body lacks to renew, refresh and boost the body's immune system.
At Paintbox, Montage's excellent children's club, younger guests (ages 5-12) can enjoy outdoor adventures, as well as games and arts and crafts. Beach-oriented activities include snorkelling, ocean kayaking, surfing, and beach volleyball. You can also explore the adjacent coves and tide pools to discover the unique marine life, while further out you may be lucky enough to see dolphins and whales. Children and teenagers can check in for a half or full day of fun with the Paintbox team.
Montage Laguna Beach has 250 guest rooms, including 60 suites, most with ocean views. Those nearest to the spa are best for those travelling without families.
|Ocean Coastal Room||
With spectacular views of the tidal pools and waves splashing the coves, these ocean coastal guestrooms showcase the raw beauty of the Laguna coast. With their premier, expansive views of the ocean waves splashing into the shoreline and beaches below, the ocean surf king or queen/queen rooms are our most popular. Breathtaking and dramatic panoramas of Aliso or Victoria Beach will tempt you to linger hour after hour on your balcony enjoying these remarkable and spectacular sights.
A superb children's' club, Paintbox, is available for children from 5 to 12 years of age, and the hotel can organise fun family days out, as well as provide cots, baby services and babysitting.
Paintbox allows guests aged 5-12 a place to play and explore whilst the parents relax. Children can enjoy fun-filled activities featuring arts and crafts, beach games and pool games for a full day or half day, while the parents cherish some time to themselves.
Montage Laguna Beach has a spa, three pools including the spectacular Mosaic pool, beach service, WiFi, laundry, room service.
There are multiple dining options including the spectacular Studio, which boasts fine a la carte menus with beautiful ocean views. The Loft is the resort's all day dining restaurant and is more casual than the Studio. Seasonal favourites and a cheese bar makes this spot excellent for families. The Mosaic Bar and Grill is the poolside jaunt, offering California inspired cuisine overlooking the ocean.
