Average time to visit

Florence is an exciting place to visit at any time of the year, and most attractions are open all year round. The best time to visit Florence is in May, early June, late September and October. Days during those months are usually warm, and quite long. July and August are hot and humid with many tourists. Since most Italians leave their hot cities in the summer, many restaurants are closed in Florence.

Winter can get cold, particularly January but it is quiet. Temperatures are more favourable in the spring and autumn months.

Staying at this beautiful hotel really is like staying in a home away from home. Its fantastic location directly on the banks of the Arno provides stunning views of the water and the Ponte Vecchio from many of the rooms, and also from the extremely comfortable lounge and bar area - the perfect place to spend a very relaxing morning, afternoon or evening.

The hotel has been furnished in a timeless, classic style, loosely based on a nautical theme to reflect the proximity to the water, and would certainly appeal to guests of all ages. The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, and the service is personal and attentive. It is everything that you would expect from one of the best five star hotels in Florence.

Hotel Lungarno is perfect for guests looking to stay in a quieter location  but still within an easy walk of everything Florence has to offer. I loved spending time in the lounge with its picture windows right on to the Arno river and Ponte Vecchio at the end of a day exploring. Recently renovated, the hotel feels fresh and welcoming and is definitely one of my top choices for a stay in the city.
