Description

21 Nettleton is a luxury hotel with unforgettable views from its superb location in Cape Town’s Clifton neighbourhood. This is an elegant retreat for couples, with opulent décor, an impressive art collection and just four suites.

Occupying a commanding position high above the Clifton beaches, 21 Nettleton is a small luxury hotel with its own inimitable style. The architecture is a far cry from the sharp edges and glass frontages of many of the neighbouring millionaire-worthy apartments; the locals call it the Castle and you’ll see why when you are here. The house sits high on the hillside, offering uninterrupted views of the ocean stretching all the way down the Twelve Apostles, and you may find it hard to tear yourself away from the lovely gardens and those views to get out into the city. The house is set over eight floors, and with just eight guests staying here, there are plenty of private spots where you can relax and not see another soul, from lounges and terraces to little corners of the garden to hide away in.

There are just four suites here, each unique in its style and décor. The King and Queen suites are on the same floor, with a balcony that can be separated or opened up to a shared space if you take both rooms. The stunning Penthouse takes up the entire top floor, with a large sitting area, balcony with dining table and two bathrooms!

Owner Hugo lives in the house, and adds a personal element to your stay, making this feel more like staying in a beautiful luxurious home than a hotel. There are even three resident house cats who are happy to make friends with guests during their stay. His personal collection of artwork is found throughout the property and gardens, and he’s happy to share the stories of each piece if you’re interested to know more.

This hotel is the epitome of boutique luxury in Cape Town, commanding the best views over the Twelve Apostles and the beaches below. It is a new property but you wouldn't know that being inside and surrounded by an incredible array of art and furniture from all corners of the world, collected by the owner Hugo, which works perfectly together. The suites are beautifully decorated, each with a very different feel and modern touches such as an IPad to reach the concierge and to control the television makes your stay even more comfortable.

Everything is very open in this hotel, you can wander in to the kitchen and chat to the chef to find out what he is making. His canaps for sundowners are delicious and are a great opportunity to meet with other guests and chat with the owner Hugo, maybe even get him to show you around his impressive art collection. The rest of the staff are amazing and seem to know what you want before you want it.

It really is a special place to stay, you don't feel like you would have ever need or want to leave.
