The Emin Pasha Hotel is Kampala’s first boutique hotel and exudes elegance and comfort whilst evoking the taste of a bygone era. Located near the centre of Kampala and set in two acres of peaceful tropical gardens this hotel can be seen to offer privacy and calm in an otherwise hectic city.
The twenty rooms are stylishly decorated to a high quality. There are eight garden rooms, all situated on the ground floor offering a small outside sitting area facing the gardens or courtyards, en-suite bathrooms with either slate-tiled tropical showers or deep long baths, air-conditioning, internet access, television and direct dial telephone. The Fez Brasserie and Wine Bar’s menu changes frequently and draws its inspiration from many quarters, with strong Pan-African and Asian influences, as well as the more traditional continental fare.

Emin Pasha is the most wonderful oasis in the middle of Kampala. As soon as you walk in the door you are hit by the serenity and peace especially in comparison to the hustle, dust, buses and mopeds of the city. I had a delicious dinner and a wonderful massage which was much needed after the rather bumpy Ugandan roads. This is by far the nicest option in Kampala, whose other offerings are a collection of impersonal large corporate hotels.
