February - Egypt done differently

Clare - North Africa specialist

This is Egypt done differently taking you far beyond the usual well-trodden routes and into its remote corners. The itinerary combines the Sahara, Cairo and the Nile Valley and begins by exploring the Western Desert around Siwa, on the edge of the Great Sand Sea whilst staying at Adrere Amellal, an exceptional eco-lodge on the edge of a salt-water lake. Our guests drove deep into the dunes beyond and spent a night in a remote camp under the stars.

Next, they explored the banks of the River Nile on the edge of the Nubian Desert in Aswan, where Agatha Christie wrote her famous novel ‘Death on The Nile’. There's also the city’s colorful souks to discover before taking a felucca out on the Nile at sunset. The journey continued to Luxor, passing rustic villages and donkey drawn carts before the approach to the unique and beautifully decorated Al Moudira, a peaceful and luxury boutique hotel on the West Bank. From here one can marvel over Luxor’s magnificent monuments - the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple to name a few before returning back to the hubbub of Cairo.

January - A month in India and Sri Lanka

Emma - Indian Subcontinent specialist

This month long trip to India and Sri Lanka is a true, once in a lifetime experience. Our guests started in Delhi before traveling to Chambal south of Agra, going on safari to see Gangetic dophins. They continued onto to Rampura Fort to stay at the house of the ruling family and being personally guided around the local area where very few tourists have ever experienced.

Next stop was the spiritual city of Varanasi before they experienced the Sonepur Cattle Fair in Patna. Calcutta was the next stop where they spent time with a charity they supported and took twenty orphans to the England v India Test Match which Emma arranged for them. The mountains were next and a stay at 360 Leti and Andanda in the Himalayas before relaxing at Amanbagh in Rajasthan and a beach stay in Sri Lanka at Amanwella and Amangalla.

March - One of the world’s most epic road trips

Maudie - North America specialist

California boats one of the world’s most epic road trips and can be made even more outstanding by what you experience on the way. For our guests we sourced tickets to the America’s Cup Finals in San Francisco, a reservation at Thomas Keller’s French Laundry and private wine pairing lunch at Tamber Bey in the Napa Valley.

We also arranged some the most stunning accommodation including Auberge du Soleil where you can enjoy dinner on the terrace overlooking rolling vineyard, Post Ranch Inn and the Anderson Inn where Mollie and Jeff will make you feel perfectly at home. The adventure end on the beach in LA where you can live it up at the Sunset Blvd West Hollywood.

April - Marriage in the Mara

Louisa - Africa specialist

Louisa arranged some of our lovely guests to get married in the Mara. To get married in Kenya, you first need to visit Nairobi’s Sheria House to sort out your paperwork, Giraffe Manor is the perfect place to be based whilst organising this. It's a manor house in the leafy suburb of Karen with views of Karen Blixen’s Ngong Hills and you share the grounds with the resident herd of endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.

Once the paperwork was sorted, our lovebirds hopped onto a short flight south to the Maasai Mara to witness the greatest wildlife show on earth, the great wildebeest migration. When you are getting married, we thought it might as well be done in a hot-air balloon at dawn with your Maasai warrior safari guide as a witness and then to land for a champagne breakfast on the banks of the Mara River - why not! The newlyweds then headed back to camp as the day warmed up, to relax by the pool and later, headed out for sundowners and a night drive in search of a Mara leopard. After the safari, they then flew to the South Kenyan coast for a relaxing week of beach indulgence.

May - Really getting under the skin of St Lucia

Lizzie - Caribbean specialist

Lush and mountainous, St Lucia’s beauty is legendary, with the sacred and majestic twin pitons towering half a mile straight out of the sea. The dramatic landscape and crystal clear waters make St Lucia’s beaches all the more breath-taking. Lizzie put together an itinerary for her guests to really get under the skin of this gorgeous island.

Starting at Ti Kaye Village, which provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere with rooms scattered on the hillside and is also a haven for snorkeling, scuba diving and water sports. The next stop was Boucan by Hotel Chocolat, a new boutique hotel set on the exclusive Rabot Estate with glorious Piton views. Set among the rainforest this is plantation chic at its best. The super Bean to Bar experience or plantation tour is fabulous, you see all of the different colored chocolate pods and you can ‘Graft’ your own tree! Finally their last few days were at Sugar Beach, which has stunning views of the Pitons. Here, you can relax in the rainforest Spa, snorkel straight from the beach near the Marine Park, relax by the plunge pools or indulge in excellent local cuisine.

June - Island hopping in the Seychelles

Juliet - India Ocean specialist

The journey started on Silhouette Island with a stay at Labriz. This luxurious resort and spa sits among one of the most important biodiversity reserves of the Indian Ocean, where you are surrounded by lush tropical forest and contrasting smooth granite boulders. You can visit the island's Giant Tortoise Sanctuary and meet its most majestic inhabitants, some of which are over 120 years old.

Next, Denis Island is an informal island sanctuary where you can enjoy authentic barefoot luxury with a sense of adventure and where all accommodation has direct beach access. Devoted to nature, a morning’s walk will bring you across the Seychelles Fody, Magpie Robin, Paradise Flycatcher and Seychelles Warbler. Hawksbill and Green Turtles lay their eggs on Denis’ protected shoreline – these are monitored and tagged, providing valuable information assisting the protection of the species.

Whilst on Praslin, our guests visited Valle de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1963, with the largest intact coco de mer forest and many other endemic trees, plants and animals. They also enjoyed the tree-top living and romantic simplicity of Four Seasons, Mahé before visiting Victoria, the smallest capital in the world.

July - A gourmet trip to Zermatt and Italy

Katherine - Ski specialist

Zermatt is the highest resort in Europe and therefore the ideal place for spring skiing. Katherine recommended an early start and long morning ski before stopping for a late lunch at one of the multitude of mountain restaurants. Zermatt links to Cervinia in Italy, so for freshly baked pizza and a glass of prosecco, we recommended a stop on the Italian side!

Once our guests ski legs were exhausted, they flew to Catania in Sicily and on to Villa Saint Andrea. Built by an English aristocrat family in 1830, the hotel has the atmosphere of a stylish private villa and is known as one of the most exclusive hotels in Taormina. Located in the beautiful bay of Mazarro, the villa has direct access to its private beach and is surrounded by sub-tropical gardens. From here, Katherine organized some great day trips to Agrigento to visit the Greek Valley of the Temples and the classic Etna tour up the volcano.

July - Honeymoon from ski to sun

Charlotte - Ski specialist

Charlotte organized a honeymoon that started in the beautiful resort of Whistler, at the romantic idyllic setting of Nita Lake Lodge. The lodge is set in Whistler Creekside making it a little quieter and more secluded but still equally accessible to the resort center and ski lifts. Whilst in Whistler the newlyweds enjoyed the snowshoe cookout which involves strapping on snowshoes and setting out to explore the majestic Callaghan Valley and Totem Pole Lake, to then gather together around the campfire and experience a true moonlit, Canadian cookout.

From their week’s stay in Whistler they then flew from Vancouver down to Cancun, for a week relaxing in the sun at the intimate hideaway of Esencia set along the Mexican Riviera. Charlotte recommended a trip to Akumal, a small beach town on the Riviera Maya and a great place to snorkel with sea turtles; you are almost guaranteed to see them as it is a protected environment for their breeding.

September - New York Christmas City Break

Maudie - North American specialist

Maudie crafted a five night Christmas break to New York that was packed full of must-do's, unique experiences, restaurant recommendations and inside knowledge of the buzziest places in the city. The guests started their vacation with a Brooklyn Brunch Bike tour and sampled North Brooklyn’s best spots for innovative bites, while riding through this scenic area and discovering Brooklyn’s history, culture and art scene.

They then took a helicopter tour over Manhattan Island before hitting the designer stores of 5th Avenue. With tickets to a sports match, booking the best restaurant in town and backstage passes to their favorite theatre production, Maudie covered off all the final touches that made the trip truly unforgettable.

November - Family holiday to Whistler, Maui and Honolulu

Charlotte - Ski specialist

Charlotte arranged a fantastic family vacation full of adventure. The vacation started with skiing in the largest area of Canada with a real range of terrain for all types of skiers and snowboarders. Staying in the Four Seasons Whistler, she recommended the guests try the world-class spa that offers a superb choice of therapies and treatments to relax your aching limbs after a day on the mountains.

The guests then flew from Vancouver to Maui, which couldn’t be simpler and what better place to contrast and compliment your stay in Whistler. The home of surfing has beautiful warm waters around its islands which are just perfect to learn to surf or further your skills as an expert. December to March is the best time to travel as there are lots of surfing competitions to watch. Then a little hop to Honolulu, allowed the guests to experience a whole new world of adventures including a thrilling helicopter ride along the Jurassic coast.
