There are many fabulous spas in the Alps to choose from but here are our top 10 favorites for that great balance of serenity and indulgence.

Adler Mountain Lodge, Dolomites

A true gem in the stunningly beautiful Dolomites, the Adler Mountain Lodge takes luxury and style to new heights. Set on a plateau with extraordinary views this romantic lodge hosts a beautifully warm outdoor infinity pool from which the views are quite simply, out of this world. Arlberg Hospiz, St Christoph

This may be a small resort, but the 5* star hotel and spa make up for it. Known for its restaurants and fantastic wine cellar, the Arlberg Hospiz also has a 2000m2 spa with their own cosmetic line, 'Almstern' and, randomly, an art gallery within the spa! The gorgeous spa area has a swimming pool, Finnish sauna, a Bio sauna and a steam bath for reviving tired muscles. This is the perfect retreat, ski in the morning, lunch at the infamous Hospiz Alm, then relax in the spa in the afternoon.

Chedi Andermatt, Andermatt

The Chedi Andermatt has brought a new level of luxury to the traditional Alpine village of Andermatt as Asian slick meets Alpine chic. Their fabulous 2,400m2 spa houses a 35 meter indoor pool covered by a glass roof and overlooking the Alps, as well as a 12 meter temperature controlled outdoor lap pool. This enormous Spa and wellness center has a state of the art Technogym and 10 treatment rooms with therapists using the finest natural products. It also features a range of baths and saunas, including bio and Finnish saunas, a scented salt steam bath, hot and cold plunge pools, hammam, ice fountain and flower bath. Based on oriental philosophy and healing traditions, the Asian inspired treatments use natural products from ila, REN and Alpienne which have been adapted for The Chedi Andermatt.

Le Chabichou, Courchevel 1850

Le Chabichou is a picturesque white wood hotel perched on the edge of the mountain just a stone’s throw from the center of Courchevel 1850. The modern spa is all about sensory experience with modern innovations including a musical pool, a polar bath, ice fountain and salt grotto. Le Kaïla, Meribel

Le Kaïla has an enviable position in the resort of Meribel and, with direct access to the slopes, this is an excellent choice for those wanting to ski the Three Valleys. The 5* luxury is evident in the hotel’s 500m2 haven of a spa. The spa features a light pool with spectacular views of the slopes, an aquamarin pool, geysers, a jacuzzi grotto, massage chairs and, for those feeling a bit more active, there is swimming against the current, aquabiking or the fitness center. To relax the tired muscles there is a sauna, a hammam or a list of indulgent treatments. If you can bring yourself to do it, the ice fountain is a must as a refreshing way to revive the body after a hard day’s skiing!

Les Fermes de Marie, Megève

The epitome of a luxurious alpine retreat, Les Fermes de Marie is a beautiful, 5* luxury hotel formed of nine beautiful chalets, three restaurants and the Pure Altitude Spa. After a day on the slopes, the spa offers a world of respite with its extensive facilities including an indoor pool and 17 treatment rooms in cabins. The fabulous large swimming pool is surrounded by windows that open up to the outside with indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, saunas and a fitness room. Pure Altitude is now a brand of cosmetic treatment products that use plant extracts with active ingredients from over 50 mountain plants that have anti-oxidant and remineralising properties.

Backstage Vernissage, Zermatt

The Backstage Vernissage hotel in Zermatt is a quirky design-led boutique hotel where each piece of furniture has been hand-made. The glass front hotel is in the heart of Zermatt and is closely linked with the Zermatt Unplugged music festival. Its funky designs are well thought out in all the rooms and, after skiing, the only place to head to is the spa. With its video and sound installations, this is a must-visit experience. The epitome of the perfect ski and spa hotel, this 5 star retreat even has rooms called Spa Corner Suites and was originally built on historic land, where the first mineral spring was discovered in 1366.
