'Fill your life with adventures, not things'. What better statement to live by. My love for travel began sailing around the Greek Islands; discovering untouched coves, swimming in crystal blue waters and anchoring up at quaint villages to enjoy some delicious Greek Baklava! I'm always looking to visit new places, embrace different cultures and discover hidden corners of the world to explore.
Where to next? A question I am always asking myself. It is never long after returning from a trip before I have my next one booked but it seems my bucket list of places to visit is ever-growing. I was very fortunate in my years growing up, going on annual family vacations to the Med. Greece always being a firm favorite! I traveled around Thailand for a month with a best friend from college which was an incredible experience but I soon decided that I was still craving more adventure, so I took myself off for 6 months around Fiji, New Zealand and Australia on my own, working along the way in beachfront bars, and urban cafes to fund my trip.
The world is truly my oyster - whether it's camper vanning around Europe pitching tents alongside the Italian lakes, soaking up the après-ski on the snowy slopes in Courchevel or sipping cocktails on the beach in 5* luxury at the Anassa hotel in Cyprus – it’s safe to say, I love to travel. I will always jump at any opportunity to see the world, especially if it involves a tropical climate, a long sandy beach and a bar that serves a Pina Colada!
What my guests have said
"Rachael read my mind and provided exactly what I wanted at very short notice. Her service and that of her colleagues that I spoke to could not have been better. Thank you."
Favourite places I've been
I would highly recommend the Beach BBQ evening at Anassa; live acoustic band playing whilst you watch the sun setting behind the mountains, the beach lined with lanterns and the most incredible menu that just keeps coming! A truly romantic setting.
Snorkel one of the healthiest house reefs in the Indian Ocean at Baros Maldives - you will be sure to see an array of tropical fish, turtles and even reef sharks.
If you are visiting Mauritius and feeling adventurous, you can hike Le Morne Brabant mountain. You certainly need a good degree of fitness and no fear of heights as this is not for the faint-hearted, but the view from the top is simply breathtaking!
My hot picks
A blissful Mediterranean retreat in true 5* luxury. Set within a secluded bay, the Anassa feels totally exclusive. A beautiful spa, exquisite dining options and service that is second to none! Most definitely my favorite hotel in the Med.
An idyllic setting just a short 20 minute speedboat ride away from the airport. Perfect for couples and honeymooners, Baros is a small, romantic island with an incredible house reef and really personal service. Great value for money.
Truly amazing boutique resort, set on the rugged South coast. Amazing dining concepts which are all about experiencing the true Mauritian tradition but in total luxury. You must treat yourself to a massage in the Indians oceans largest spa - incredible!
