Growing up in a tent with two safari guide parents in Kenya meant that I caught the bug for Africa early and never looked back. After finishing university I immediately headed back to Africa and spent three years working as guide all across East Africa. Where I spent my time on riding safaris in the Maasai Mara, quad biking in the desert and riding a motorbike from South Africa to Kenya.
Favourite places I've been
- On safar, a good pair of binoculars can make a huge difference and might mean spotting that last big cat on your list!
- A good bag and two different sizes lenses for your camera is always worth it for all keen photographers.
- Lip balm and sun cream are a must!
- When gorilla trekking, make sure to remember a pair of waterproof shoes and a light-weight water tight jacket.
My hot picks
Swimming my horse across the Mara river alongside migrating wildebeest - the best kind of adventure.
Standing up close and personal to giant silverbacks in the Volcanoes National Park Rwanda, incredible.
