I spent most of my time at university working and saving, waiting until I could finally go away traveling. When that day finally came, I got thoroughly overexcited and my planned six-month jaunt turned into me traveling and working abroad for just over two years! I started my adventure in South East Asia, and ever since I’ve had a soft spot for the magic and wonder of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.
I love experiences when you can really go slowly and spend time talking with locals, and there’s nothing I hate more than being ferried around a well-trodden tourist trail. My blogs
Favourite places I've been
When traveling in Asia I would always recommend buying a local SIM card as soon as you can. Being able to look up directions, facts and translations will make your trip so much more enjoyable!
Don’t ever go on vacation with a full bag! You’ll find so many little gems in the markets and shops as you travel around and it’s such a shame to have to turn things down just because you can’t fit them within your luggage allowance!
There’s no better way to see a new city than on a walking tour with a local guide.
My hot picks
The Azerai is an odd choice for a favorite property as this old military barracks holds true to its roots with an unfussy & practical style. The lack of ultra-luxury isn't for everyone but its location is unbeatable & the restaurant is out of this world.
