San Diego Office

As a toddler I took my very first steps while walking up and down the aisle of an airplane somewhere over the Atlantic and I have continued traveling with that same wide-eyed excitement ever since. Growing up reading biographies about female adventurers gave me plenty of reasons to want to see places for myself.

A passion for vintage aviation brought me to San Diego where I gained my Pilot’s License and flew the planes I had spent my childhood reading about. Wherever I travel to, I always try to see the country from a small plane- the view is always amazing and pilots have great stories to share.

Spending every summer visiting Europe with family and friends let me see many varied landscapes and cities. Barcelona, Prague, Cambridge and Edinburgh are favorite cities and Southern Iceland remains firmly at the top of my bucket list to see time and time again.

I have snorkelled between tectonic plates in Iceland, flown a small plane over an active Volcano in Hawaii, kayaked Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand and watched Loggerhead turtles hatch on the beach in Zante, Greece. Of all the travel activities I have enjoyed the greatest thrill comes from making dreams come true for others.

Guiding You in the Right Direction

Travel nuggets

  • Book early- the anticipation builds a greater sense of excitement.

  • For a complete perspective see the country from the ground, the water and the air. Take a flight to see a place from above, dip your toe in the lake or ocean and wander off the well-trodden path or a City’s main street.

  • The only silly question is the one you didn't ask- talk to the locals and people who have been before and you'll learn more than from just a guide book.

  • Look up, look behind you, crouch down, gain a new perspective on a view; most importantly get out from behind a camera lens or phone screen and experience the scene you are a part of.

  • You don't take a good photo, you make one; the best photo is the one you captured- have your camera handy, think about framing the shot, foreground and background, etc. But most importantly point and shoot- remember you can always enhance it later.

  • Be in the picture- join in, embrace the situation. Not all of us feel confident in a swimsuit but don't let that stop you. Be impulsive and say yes.

  • Travel more. Life is short but wide, you'll never get to the end of your days and wish you had spent more days behind a desk.

My hot picks

Amanzoe, Porto Heli, Peloponnese

It's just heaven. Amanzoe is so tranquil and stunning, set in the tree covered hills, it has a path that leads directly to the beach.

Borgo Santo Pietro, Tuscany, Italy

Words can't do this place justice, it's just phenomenal.

Grace Santorini, Santorini, Greece

Watching the sunset into the turquoise water while lounging in the hotel’s infinity pool high on the cliff top has to be one of the most relaxing experiences you can have. Tradition and luxury blend perfectly here to make an idyllic Greek destination.

Hotel Budir, Budir, Snaefellsnes Peninsula

Snaefellsnes Peninsula Iceland. Surrounded by mountains and beach and located on a lava field you are truly surrounded by Iceland’s stunning scenery. With the chance to view the northern lights from the rooftop your stay at Hotel Budir will be memorable.

Palazzo Avino, Ravello, Amalfi Coast, Italy

Beautiful property with astounding service.

The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel, Edinburgh, Scotland

Set in one of my favorite cities the Balmoral is perfectly positioned for everything Edinburgh has to offer. Close to Edinburgh castle, this Victorian five star property is a landmark of its own and provides a level of luxury that you deserve.
