European Family Vacation FAQs
-
If you're planning a city break to one of the major European destinations such as Rome or Athens, it's worth factoring in how hot it can get at the height of summer. Consider visiting in March to June or September to October. These months are pleasantly warm, making it easier to get around Europe with both toddlers and older kids.
Heading to the coast? If you want to spend your stay in Europe on the Mediterranean shores, spring and fall are the perfect seasons.
The temperatures are cooler across the continent throughout winter, but this is the time to wrap up and go in search of the Northern Lights in Iceland. You'll find snow-capped mountains across Scandinavia, making this the ideal destination for a winter sports break, while Finland is home to Santa Claus himself. Winter is also when the Alps come alive, with skiers seeking the perfect snow from December to April.

There are some key factors to consider before taking a Europe vacation with your kids:
Your itinerary
The type of vacation you choose will depend on your children's needs. Whether you're traveling to Europe with a toddler or you have older kids, we'll take care of your itinerary. We'll discuss your requirements and tailor your break to not only match but exceed your expectations.
Languages
Six languages in Europe have more than 40 million native speakers: Russian, French, German, Italian, English, and Spanish. English is spoken by the largest number of people, with approximately 200 million Europeans having it as their second language.
Although these are the most common languages, most countries across the continent have their own native language so it can be useful to learn some basic phrases. It can also be fun to teach your kids some standard sentences too. Your English-speaking expert guide can help if you have difficulty with pronunciation.
Currency
The main currency in Europe is the euro. This is the official currency of 20 EU countries. However, it's important to note that some EU countries, such as Denmark and Sweden, have chosen to retain their own currency.

We have a selection of Europe tours that last between four and 21 nights. We'll always ensure we accommodate your needs for the duration of your vacation and beyond.
