Families & childcare
Sharing the cultural and wildlife experiences of Africa and Asia with your children can be great. Nothing can explain better the real habits and beauty of the wild animals than seeing them in their natural habitat.Similarly viewing the most impressive temples in the world or seeing first hand the custom of local people can stimulate a child’s interest in other cultures and their arts. Therefore we make sure that we explore the child friendliness of all the hotels and tours that we offer.
South America is a very child-friendly continent, but in practice travelling independently with young children is not so easy. We have much experience - often personal - of travelling with children and understand the restrictions and concerns. Although many of the hotels we use welcome children, our itineraries are not generally suited to the demands of infants. However, travelling with teenagers in certain parts of Latin America presents no special problems, and can be wonderful.
Single travellers
Travelling alone or as part of a group but requiring single room accommodation can be expensive. Many hotels impose charges for single room occupancies or unutilised beds.Scott Dunn does not impose any additional booking charges for singles and will happily advise which hotels offer reasonable single room rates and which ground operators offer small group tours without single supplements. Please note the prices on our website are based on two people sharing.
