Although renowned for its areas of mass tourism, the Algarve does in fact have some beautiful unspoilt areas. The whole coastline to the west of Lagos is less developed and has a hillier, rugged terrain, with awesome cliffs that fall away into the sea. Equally 10km back from the coast can find you in lemon and orange and olive groves. The Algarve has long been a great family destination as it has such a large choice of activities available, you would be hard pushed not to find anything that doesn’t suit everyone in the family, whether it is excellent beaches, watersports or golf.
