Tiger Safari with Boutique Hotels is recommended for

Description

Your journey begins with a night in Delhi upon arrival before a short domestic flight to Jabalpur. From here you will be driven to your first stop in Bandhavgarh National Park.

Each park you will visit has its own distinct characteristics and mix of wildlife to keep your sighting experiences varied. Bandhavgarh however, with its open grasslands and steep rocky outcrops has the highest tiger density of tiger in the Subcontinent and therefore offers a good chance of a coveted sighting. It is also a magical park for other reasons; whist there, you can drive up a steep mountain in the centre of the park to visit the remote temple and deserted fort, then look down on the expanse of the park, perhaps even watching eagles catching the thermals below.

For your boutique experience in Bandhavgarh we recommend Monsoon Forest, a camp with just 6 comfortable safari tents, each en-suite, and with a view over mature grasslands.

From Bandhavgarh you will drive south to Kanha National Park, staying at Flame of the Forest Safari Lodge. This property has been created by a husband and wife team who are passionately eco-sensitive and community driven. The four luxurious cottages of this property are spread over 10 acres on the banks of the river and have been built in traditional central Indian style. As well as offering twice-daily game drives, the lodge also offers the opportunity to visit local villages and do some Yoga, therefore offering a balanced and varied experience in this beautiful rural area.

Kanha was one of the first of nine tiger reserves to have been created with the launch of Project tiger in 1973. The park is characterised by its extensive grasslands and as well as tiger sightings, it is not unusual to catch sight of leopard or the rare hardground barasingha (swamp deer), now only endemic in Kanha.

After Kanha your journey will finish in Pench National Park, staying at Bagh Van. This property is a fantastic way to end your wildlife adventure, perhaps even falling to sleep under the stars to the calming sounds of the jungle in the comfort of your private open-air Machan.

All of our itineraries are just suggestions and can be tailor-made to suit you. Many guests like to extend their journey, perhaps adding on a few days in Delhi for some sightseeing or heading to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. Other guests opt for the calming experience of Ahilya Fort; a beautiful boutique heritage property on the banks of the Namarda river close to Indore, excellent to wind down for a few days at the end of your itinerary. Of course if you are yearning for some more action then experiencing the buzz of Mumbai for a few days is also an option; please talk though the options with your consultant who can tailor your perfect wildlife experience.
