Description
Begin by flying to Miami and spending two nights at the superb Tides on South Beach. Enjoy some of the most exciting cuisine in the United States, relax poolside, enjoy some of the live music scene or explore Miami's vibrant art deco architecture.
Fly to Belize City where a private charter plane will be waiting to whisk you away into the rainforest for a total immersion in nature at Chan Chich Lodge, a wonderful luxury lodge set amongst the unexcavated pyramids of an ancient Maya city. Rustic luxury, superbly spacious accommodations, a swimming pool and divine food provide an atmospheric backdrop to the real stars of the show - the wildlife. An amazing variety of birds, from hummingbirds to harpy eagles, troops of monkeys and agoutis, and even a jaguar or ocelot sighting make this arguably Belize's top wildlife destination. You can also go horse riding, kayak in the rivers or discover some of the interesting communities that live in this remote backwater.
Finish with some serious pampering on the beach at Kanantik Reef & Jungle Resort. While staying in your understatedly luxurious thatched-roof cabana, enjoy incredible reef diving, relaxing by the pool or on the palm-fringed beach, and a host of activities and excursions, while the evenings offer indescribably beautiful sunsets, rum punches in the bar and some seriously good cooking from the wood-fired oven.

When to travel
Belize's climate is marked by two distinct seasons, the rainy season (June to November) and the dry season (December to May). The coldest month is January and the warmest temperatures are in May. Summers in San Pedro Town and the other Cayes strung out along the Barrier Reef are much milder than on the Belizean mainland, due to the proximity to the Sea and the cooling effects of the easterly trade winds and cloud cover which hold temperatures in the high 20's/ low 30's.
The busier time of the year for travellers to Belize is November to May, which are the winter months of the Northern Hemisphere. Still, many visitors prefer the more quiet days of the summer months from June to October for their vacation in Belize.
