Description
The Chilean Andes are a superb winter playground, and offer some of the best skiing conditions on earth. Combine this with some down time on the tropical coast of Bahia, and you have a recipe for the ultimate summer holiday.
Begin by flying into Santiago and heading straight into the Andes to stay at Valle Nevado. Here among the majesty of the high Andes is the largest Valle skiable terrain in the Americas. The resort was designed with the expertise of the French and there is an excellent lift system providing access to pistes for all abilities. There is also a great deal of off-piste action possible and, for added excitement, there is an excellent heli-skiing programme allowing you to discover glaciers and spectacular descents in the company of expert guides.
Return to Santiago and fly to Sao Paulo for a night at the classy Tivoli Mofarrej, perfectly located in the Jardins area, a great location for experiencing some Sao Paulo’s mouthwatering cuisine. Continue next day to the Brazilian beaches, where we would suggest Trancoso as the perfect place to chill out. An authentically Brazilian fishing village with brightly coloured houses, a few designer boutiques and restaurants, and miles and miles of palm-fringed golden sands await. We have suggested Etnia Pousada, a beautifully stylish boutique hotel that will allow you to make the most of doing nothing at all.
Please see our Original Itinerary below. Do note that the ski season in Chile runs from late June to September. It is a suggested itinerary and can be tailored to suit your individual needs.

When to travel
The ski season runs from late June through to the end of September, with peak prices in July and early August. While the coast of Bahia can be visited throughout this period, it progressively gets sunnier through this time. In recent years, snow has tended to fall later and later, making September the ideal (and cheapest) time to combine the two.
