Description
Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is set in one of the most diverse parks in Tanzania. The park boasts an incredible wealth of habitats, from swamps and a tranquil lake to the mountain escarpment of the Great Rift Valley. The lodge is located in the park’s remote south western region, allowing for leisurely tracking of the famous tree-climbing lions and unimpeded viewing of the flocks of pelicans, flamingos, and the buffalo cooling in the soda lake.
You will then be driven to the Ngorongoro Crater, once a huge active volcano. Its collapse has formed a natural sanctuary in which there are an estimated 30,000 animals. This unique conservation area offers some of East Africa’s most concentrated game viewing and the Crater Lodge mirrors the dramatic scenery with its opulence.
Fly north over the vast open plains of the Serengeti, famed for its abundance of wildlife and superb game viewing, giving visitors a real-life ‘Out of Africa’ experience. The annual wildebeest migration is the major event of the northern plains. The migration follows a well-worn route and is best viewed in the Serengeti when the herds are on the move from the end of June to September. Serengeti Safari Camp shadows the movements of the great migration, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
Baraza is arguably the best resort in Zanzibar, offering a very high standard of accommodation in 30 one- and two-bedroom villas alongside a beautiful stretch of white-sand beach. Each has its own private plunge pool, sitting are and spacious en-suite bathroom and is fully air-conditioned. Enjoy treatments in the extensive spa and make use of the gym, tennis courts and watersports facilities.

When to travel
Tanzania is a large country, with a varied climate. Generally, the long rains run from March to May - the temperature is warm and the humidity is high. June to October is the long dry season, and the short rains are in November and December, much lighter than the long rains. January and February are again dry (the short dry season) so this is another good time to visit. The wildebeest migration happens most of year in Tanzania's Serengeti, and is linked to the rainfall.
