Witness the majesty of lion, rhino, and elephant as they roam the dramatic African wilderness, then marvel at the spectacle of brightly-coloured tropical fish and corals in an azure sea. This holiday begins with safari and ends by the ocean.
Set within its own concession area of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, Exeter River Lodge offers superb game viewing with fantastic guides and trackers. The lodge is beautifully articulated overlooking the Sand River, you can often see game drinking from the river from the comfort of the lodge or your room. Each room is designed with a fresh, contemporary feel to them.
Next, Benguerra Island, Mozambique. Here, seas rich in coral and fish lap at white sandy beaches that divide the ocean from tropical forest. Benguerra Lodge, a rustic, friendly and luxurious retreat, is your home for a week. Take a boat out to sea for a morning’s snorkelling, explore the nearby villages or relax by the pool and in the spa. In the evening, take a stroll to the boat bar on the beach and watch the sun set over the ocean.

When to travel
There is good game viewing in the Great Kruger year round, though the best time to go is between May to mid-October. The works fantastically with Mozambique as the Bazaruto Archipelago is best from April to October. Heavy rain can be experienced here in January and February which is also when you'll find the hottest and not so comfortable weather in South Africa.
