Heavenly honeymoon - Kenya and Tanzania is recommended for
Honeymoon2Adventure2Off the beaten track2Wildlife2

Description

On arrival in Nairobi you will fly straight to the Maasai Mara. Naibor is fantastically-positioned on the banks of the Talek River and offers superb game viewing. There is a real sense of welcome in the camp with fabulous guides and hosts. The tents are beautifully designed offering comfort in a traditional bush camp.

From Naibor you will fly to Fundu Lagoon, on the remote island of Pemba, part of the Zanzibar Archipelago. Fundu Lagoon has just 18 rooms and suites dotted along the beach and up the hillside overlooking the sea, all linked by rustic wooden walkways. Each has its own en-suite bathroom and private deck, which makes a perfect spot to sit and sip a sundowner while watching the sunset. There is superb diving nearby at Misali Island as well as snorkelling. The lodge runs a twice-daily boat shuttle to the island and guests are welcome to take a picnic and just chill on the beach or explore the island. They also have kayaks for exploring the mangroves around the lodge and a traditional sailing dhow, which is often taken out in the evening for a little sunset cruise. There's a pool above the resort with its own bar and a couple of rooms for massage treatments and also a jetty bar, which is popular in the evenings for a pre- or post-dinner drink with other guests. Often, tempting seafood canapés will be made from something one of the guests has caught during the day.

Please see our itinerary below. It is a suggested itinerary and can be tailored to suit your individual needs.

When to travel

Kenya is a dry country, with regional variations in temperature and rainfall. On the coast, the weather is tropical with high humidity in April and May, and occasional monsoon winds. Inland (including the Central Highlands and Rift Valley) the climate is temperate. The long rains fall from March to May and the short rains fall from late October to December. The best time to visit is usually July to February, and the wildebeest migration usually occurs from mid-July to September.
