When to travel
There is good game viewing in the Great Kruger year round, though the best time to go is between May to mid-October. The works fantastically with Mozambique as the Bazaruto Archipelago is best from April to October. Heavy rain can be experienced here in January and February which is also when you'll find the hottest and not so comfortable weather in South Africa.

Exeter River Lodge is situated in the 65 000 hectare (160 600 acre) Sabi Sands Game Reserve which shares an unfenced border with Kruger National Park, allowing African wildlife to move freely across the territory. Then on to Benguerra, the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago.The island is approximately 55 square kilometres (11km long x 5.5 km wide), and lies 14km offshore. Inland, Benguerra Island comprises forest, savannah, freshwater lakes and wetland eco-systems that sustain a diverse population of fauna and flora. The island, which is home to approximately 140 bird species, was declared a National Park in 1971.
How to get there
11-hour international flight to Johannesburg. Fly from Johannesburg OR Tambo International airport (ORTIA) to Ulusaba airstrip, followed by an easy game drive to the lodge. This direct flight is approximately 1-hour 30-minutes and generally scheduled for the morning or early afternoon to allow arriving guests to enjoy an afternoon game drive on their day of arrival.
