Description

After flying overnight to Cape Town you will be met and driven two hours to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in Hermanus which is the ideal starting point for this family adventure. There is a huge variety of activities to choose from including horse riding, fishing, birdwatching, great white shark cage diving and whale watching. Additionally there's a playground near the horse stables and there are a number of activities to inspire and educate children including treasure hunts in the Milkwood Forest.

From Hermanus you will return to Cape Town from where you will take a short flight to George, in the Eastern Cape, where you will be met and driven about half an hour to Kurland which is just outside Plettenburg Bay. It is incredibly well equipped for families – some of the rooms have internal loft rooms where up to three children can stay. There are childcare staff on hand throughout the day and complimentary Shetland pony rides for children aged 1 to 6 years. Also available within the large grounds of the property are quad bikes, horses, mountain bikes and a spa. There is also so much to do in the surrounding area from kayaking up a river and stopping in one of the secluded bays for a picnic lunch to exploring Monkey Land and the nearby Elephant Park. The more adventurous can try wind-surfing in the bay itself or simply wander through the Robberg Nature Reserve. The rugged beaches are wind-swept and make for stunning long walks of an afternoon.

After four nights at Kurland you will be met and driven five hours to Kwandwe Ecca Lodge which is situated in one of South Africa's most beautiful, malarial-free private game reserves. The beautiful reserve, with its rolling, green hills, has a large amount of game present including lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino among many others.

Kwandwe Ecca Lodge is ultra modern and contemporary in design and is fantastic for children of all ages. The large suites each have their own private deck and plunge pool (which can be fenced for smaller children) overlooking the Great Fish River. With only six suites the feel is intimate and friendly and the guides are excellent. Activities include game drives, bush walks and fishing.
