When to travel
Good game viewing year round, especially May to mid-October. South African summers (October to March) are hot and wet, were as winters (May to August) are cool and dry. Daytime temperatures in summer are high and may soar above 36°C/97°F. Winter is known to produce beautiful warm days, though the evenings and early mornings can be quite chilly.
Mauritius enjoys a typically tropical climate with year-round heat, although the southeast trade winds help it never to feel too muggy. The summer months are from December to April, when it can nevertheless be extremely humid, and the winter, such as it is, runs from May to November, and is cooler and drier.
The best months to visit Mauritius are May to early December. January and February, the peak cyclone months, are best avoided by water-sports enthusiasts and divers.

Set within 75 000 hectares of safari park, Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge is situated on a hill in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. From there onto Ant's Hill which is situated in a private game reserve, on an escarpment looking out over the Waterberg Plateau in the Limpopo Province. Finishing in Anahita the Resort on the east coast of Mauritius is just in front of Ile aux Cerfs.
How to get there
11-hour international flight to O.R.Tambo International Airport, followed by a 1-hour domestic flight to Madikwe Hills airstrip, then 35-minutes by road.
