Description
Begin your holiday in Siem Reap, home to the mystical Angkor Wat. Your private guide will accompany you to the major temples such as the eerie faces of Bayon or overgrown Ta Prohm as well as helping you discover some of the lesser known temples in this vast complex. Or take to the skies to see Angkor Wat from a hot air balloon or even by helicopter – a once in a lifetime experience. After a busy day sightseeing come back to Hôtel De La Paix, a stunning contemporary hotel with close ties to the local community. The location is also ideal in the heart of Siem Reap, so you can wander out to explore the vibrant restaurant and market scene.
You will then be driven deep into the Cambodian countryside for a one-night Temple Safari experience. This unique concept allows you to break away from the well-trodden tourist routes and when you stop off to visit temples, you will often be the only one there. Accommodation is in very comfortable tents and you will have a crew to look after your every need.
After your safari experience, take a short flight down to Phnom Penh. Being the capital of Cambodia, there are lots of interesting sights such as the Royal Palace and National Museum. A visit to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek and Tuol Sleng, a former high school that the Khmer Rouge turned into a centre for interrogation and torture is also a must, to understand the recent history of the Khmer Rouge regime. Raflles Hotel Le Royal is the number one address in Phnom Penh with a rich history, dating back to the 1920s.
For your final few nights, retreat to the Cambodian coast for some time to relax in a gorgeous boutique property. Knai Bang Chatt is a guesthouse with a relaxed atmosphere and unobtrusive service that immediately makes guests feel at home. The coastline is rapidly evolving, yet Kep retains the charm of a traditional fishing village. Spend your days relaxing by the pool, taking a sailboat out and exploring the local markets – you will be totally relaxed by the time you come home.

When to travel
Cambodia is hot all year round and the best time to visit is during the dry season, which runs from November to April. It starts to get wetter in May and the wettest months are September and October. It is still possible to visit during this time as rain usually falls as short sharp storms. November is a fantastic month to visit Cambodia as it is very green after the rainy season and the lakes and rivers are full of water.
