A Taste of the Far East - Cambodia, Laos and Thailand is recommended for
Honeymoon3Family2Adventure2Culture2

Description

Experience the diversity that the Far East has to offer by starting in the fascinating town of Siem Reap in Cambodia. Take a short trip out of town to explore the wonders of Angkor Wat, the largest set of religious buildings in the world and then on to the many other incredible Khmer temples. Choose an exclusive experience such as hot air ballooning over the temples at sunset or maybe a sunrise breakfast instead. Hotel De La Paix is stunningly designed and the perfect base to explore from.

Leaving the mystical temples behind, venture on to the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage riverside town of Luang Prabang and its stunning surrounds. Arise at dawn to watch the monks lining the streets collecting alms against a stunning sunrise backdrop. There are numerous beautiful temples that have been lovingly restored to keep as many original features as possible. Wander the streets that have remained unchanged for decades, exploring little alleyways and haggle in the famous night market that spreads around the town every night.

Heading south to the island of Koh Yao Noi, off the coast of Phuket and accessible by boat or helicopter. From your pool villa, you can enjoy mesmerising views onto the limestone pinnacles of Phang Nga Bay and this is one of the iconic images of Thailand. In between dips in your private infinity pool and sessions in the luxurious spa, take an excursion to nearby islands for some snorkelling or deep sea fishing and in the evening, enjoy a movie on the beach under the stars. Six Senses Yao Noi is the perfect place to relax and soak up everything you have seen in this fabulous introduction to the Far East.

When to travel

The best time to visit Cambodia, Laos and Koh Yao Noi is from November to May. This is when the weather is driest and you can get the most out of the amazing temples, beautiful countryside and tropical island. The 13-15 April is a particularly fun time to be in Thailand as it is Songkran, when people celebrate by throwing water over each other as a symbolic form of cleansing to see in the New Year.
