Description

Ideal for families with children who are 8+, Nepal offers a perfect getaway for October Half Term, Christmas, February Half Term or Easter. This itinerary combines a number of different experiences, and we can shorten or extend it depending on the time you have. Some guests like to combine this itinerary with a beach stop in Muscat on the return journey, creating the perfect balance between adventure and relaxation.

Begin in Kathmandu, a bustling ancient city full of colour and excitement. For families, we like to showcase it on the back of cycle rickshaws. Whilst in Kathmandu, you can either have an opportunity to fly around Everest, or for those wanting a more exclusive option we can send you all off in a private helicopter, stopping in a Buddhist Monastery for morning prayers before hovering over Everest Base Camp.

Continue to the Annapurna Mountain Range for a couple of days of trekking. The route taken doesn’t include many steep uphills, and is designed more as a gentle introduction to rural Himalayan life and being close to the mighty peaks of the Annapurna Range. We suggest visiting a local school, and also seeing a local bee farm to see how traditional honey is made.

On the way back to Pokhara you will stop at the local Buddhist Monastery to meet the high Lama who will show you around.

The next day, drive to the Seti River where you will embark on some white-water rafting. The rapids aren’t so ferocious, and the day is largely spent floating down slowly watching the world go by. You arrive at the River Camp for an evening away from it all on the banks of the river. You then continue down the river before being driven to the edge of the Chitwan National Park. That evening, head out on elephant back through the jungle, which is home to tigers, rhinos and a multitude of other animals.

After another morning safari you will fly to Kathmandu where you can head to the home of an Everest Summiteer for tea to hear stories about climbing the world’s highest mountains.
