Description

Pine Cliffs is located in the most southern region of Portugal, the Algarve, famous for its almost constant sunshine and long sandy beaches. The resort is perched on beautiful red cliffs with stunning views out to the Atlantic Ocean, with green lawns and pine trees.

There is a variety of accommodation spread throughout the resort. Scott Dunn recommends the 2 and 3 bedroomed Pine Cliffs residences which are located close to the golf course, tennis courts and the Scott Dunn children’s club. They are ideal for families as they have a spacious living room with kitchenette giving guests the flexibility of self-catering. Other recommended options are the 4 bedroomed deluxe villas with private pools or the newly built 'terraces' accommodation.

The magnificent sandy Falesia beach is accessed by a lift followed by a series of wide steps. At the beach there is a small choice of watersports on offer and a fantastic beach club which offers fresh fish and lovely salads. Tennis professionals are available for coaching all ages and abilities and there is a 9-hole golf course and golf academy, built on the edge of a spectacular cliff overlooking the sea.

There are a number of restaurants and bars to choice from (most have children's menus) ranging from informal international brasserie style to fine dining seafood and Moroccan restaurants. Other resort facilities for children include a children’s pool, 18 hole mini crazy golf course, bouncy castle, basketball, games room and of course the Scott Dunn children’s club catering for children aged 4 months to 13 years.

Pine Cliffs is a well established firm favourite for families that does not fail to disappoint.

Accommodation

Every room at the Sheraton hotel Pine Cliffs is well equipped with flat screen TV, direct dial telephone, safe, internet, rainforest showers and Luxury Collection bed. All rooms and suites are ultra spacious with large balconies enjoying gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean, lush gardens or the Monchique mountains. Dark wood furniture and tiled floors create a traditional charm. The luxury suites spread over 2 levels providing ample living and dining space and a generously appointed bathroom.

We recommend the 2 and 3 bedroom residences, equipped with living room, kitchenette, utility room, stylish bedrooms and either a balcony or terrace - great for families as there is ample space for the children, plus facilities to cook. All the benefits of a 5 star hotel, but with the independence a serviced apartment gives you -put a wash on, cook the children's supper or relax on the balcony with a gin and tonic, whilst the little ones are sound asleep.

When to travel

The Algarve has a mild climate with more that 300 days of sunshine a year. The climate in the Algarve is generally warm and sunny in May with the risk of the odd shower of rain. Sometimes it can be cool in the evenings. By June the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. Throughout the summer months it can be windy especially during the afternoon. June and September are particularly pleasurable months.
