Lungo il Tevere Roma
A lively hub of activity, head to the annual "Lungo il Tevere Roma". In its tenth year, this event, with hundreds of tents along the River Tiber, is a brilliant night of entertainment.
During the summer months in Rome, when the River Tiber is low, its riverbanks become a lively source of entertainment. The “Lungo il Tevere Roma” (along the Tiber Rome) is a festival-like event, in which tents are set up with bars, markets, restaurants, and open-air cinemas. Filled with people from 6 in the evening into the late hours, this free, cultural event attracts people of all ages from across Rome.
Be sure to try the delicious freshly fried calamari, from the always-busy La Paranza seafood restaurant, or check out film times for the open-air cinemas, where you can catch screenings of old Italian black and white films from the 1930’s. With easily over 50 bars along the river, they are the perfect place to relax on the floor cushions, sipping a cocktail as you watch the coloured lights, illuminating the river.
