Amalfi Coast and south
The stunningly beautiful Amalfi Coast stands out for its spectacular coastlines, rugged cliffs, cascades of brightly coloured houses, lemon groves and olive trees on terraced hillsides, all tumbling down to an aquamarine sea. The main town in the area is Amalfi, which makes a good starting point for an exploration of this exquisite coastline. A drive along the famous coastal road, known for its stunning views and hairpin bends, is a fantastic way to reach the many other picturesque towns in the area. The Amalfi Coast is also home to many world renowned sites including Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Greek Temples of Paestum.
