Description

Set within a pine forest, on the north-western slopes of one of Greece's most celebrated capes in the Attica region, the Cape Sounio offers breathtaking views of the Temple of Poseidon and out across the ocean. With its peaceful location on the edge of a national park, it is hard to imagine that you are just an hour from the bustling, historic city of Athens.

The stylish, contemporary rooms are spread across the hillside in bungalows and villas, many with private pools and gardens. Shaded stone paths lined with olive trees and palms separate the rooms and provide additional privacy and exclusivity.

The extensive gardens and large heated seawater pool offer plenty of space for sunbathing, or swim off one of the private beaches in the cool clear water of the Aegean Sea. The state-of-the-art Elixir Spa, surrounded by glass, creates the illusion of being outside in the luxuriant gardens. Organic plants and extracts from the local area are used in many of the spa treatments.

Experience the magic of the Sounio sunset with a champagne cruise around the foot of the Temple of Poseidon to the soft strains of classical music. Or celebrate a special event with a moonlit, night cruise complete with indulgent trimmings.

Service at Cape Sounio is refined and considerate, the emphasis is firmly on the comfort and privacy of each and every guest.

When to travel

The climate in Greece is warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From April/May onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By mid/end of May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May to October are particularly pleasurable months.
