The hotel's 14 rooms and 11 suites are spacious, comfortable and elegantly furnished in a contemporary chalet style. Relax in the cocktail bar or soak up the sunshine on the wonderful sun-drenched, south-facing terrace with panoramic mountain views. Alternatively warm up by the open fireplace with a vin chaud. Later in the evening, enjoy the gastronomy of the fabulous hotel fine dining restaurant, "Le Grain de Sel".

Set in a great location in the heart of the resort, the hotel is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the ski school meeting point and the main ski lifts. Hotel le Savoie is on the main street with most of the rooms and suites benefiting from magnificent south facing views.

The Payot spa is a highlight of the hotel and boasts 2 saunas and 2 Jacuzzis as well as an indoor counter-current swimming pool, hot tub or cold bath and steam room. Luxurious beauty treatments and massages are on offer in the treatment rooms.

The hotel is well suited to families and there is a dedicated, well-equipped games room which was enlarged for the 2011/12 season and equipped with games consoles and a large DVD collection. There is also a playroom for the youngest guests, fitted out with fluffy toys, play mats and drawing tables. The hotel shuttle means getting to the slopes couldn't be easier - even though they are only a few hundred metres away.

Accommodation

The 25 rooms and suites combine modern design with authentic traditional materials to create space and luxury. The rooms and suites feature private bathrooms with bath tubs and shower and most rooms have a balcony overlooking the beautiful mountain scenery. Humidifiers are provided as standard to ensure a good night's sleep in the dry mountain air.

The most simple rooms, the Classics are 25m2 and the Family suites, at 90m2 are much sought after. And for true indulgence, there is the glorious 180m2 Royal Suite.

Childcare

Children are welcome, there is a children’s corner for kids aged 4-10yrs and a children’s menu. The Scott Dunn exclusive children's club is available to guests and babysitting is available too.

Facilities

The main fine cuisine restaurant serves classic French dishes and offers an excellent selection of wines from the hotel's wine cellar, organised by region as well as by grape variety. The Wine bar has a simple but tasty lunchtime menu and also serves tapas in the evening. At sunset the Savoie bar transforms into a champagne bar offering all the big names in addition to the unique smaller producers. The Payot Spa with indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam ensures guests can relax and rejuvenate both mind and body. There is also a ski room with a Killy Sport pro shop.

Activities

Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.

Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The new Oxygen centre has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.

Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.

There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

When to travel

Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.
