Description

Chalet Solyneou recently benefited from a facelift and is now among the finest chalets in Val d’Isère for a group of 8-10 people, blending traditional Alpine style with cool contemporary features. Its central location means the chalet is just a short stroll to the restaurants and shops of Val d’Isère. The large open plan living area and the ultra modern Wellness area make Solyneou a treat for a sociable group of friends or families.

On the ground floor you are greeted by the stylish sight of the indoor swimming pool with its fountain and corner Jacuzzi. The steam room is ideal for easing aching limbs after a hard day’s skiing. There is one good-sized twin/double bedroom (can fit a cot) on the ground floor with an en suite shower and flat screen TV.

On the first floor the wood panelled living area is dominated by the central fireplace which can be enjoyed from all sides. The dining table hosts great dinner parties late into the evening and the sitting area benefits from 2 sofa areas with plenty of seating allowing everyone to spread out and relax. There is a huge flat screen TV with DVD player and satellite TV channels.

On the balcony, the outdoor hot tub is a great place to enjoy a glass of chilled Champagne while looking up at the Bellevarde Mountain.

The other four bedrooms are on the second floor. All are en suite with flat screen TVs and three have zip/link beds allowing them to be set up as twins or doubles. The bathrooms are stylishly appointed with Italian marble tiles. The master suite is particularly comfortable with a South facing balcony, views of the mountain, armchairs and a flat screen TV. Two of the rooms are under the eaves and have low ceilings.

We think Chalet Solyneou is ideal for two families or a group of adults. Its location, and wellness facilities make it a great place to enjoy a skiing holiday and to enjoy our renowned Premier service.

Guide price £1,700 per person per week (Jan)

Accommodation

Chalet Solyneou features 4 twin/double bedrooms and one small double bedroom. The rooms vary in size but the traditional Alpine styling is consistent throughout and the bathrooms are attractively decorated with Italian tiles. All but one room can be set up as twins or doubles making the chalet versatile for different groups. All rooms have flat screen TVs and a DVD player.

Childcare

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.

Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Solyneou benefit from our exclusive children's club. Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, usually free of charge.

Facilities

Facilities in the chalet include a swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, ski boot warmers, satellite television, DVD player and plasma entertainment system, a selection of games, telephone and WiFi internet access.

Activities

Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.

Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The new Oxygen centre has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.

Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.

There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Services

Chalet Solyneou is complemented by our Premier service. Our team pride themselves on ensuring that service is seamless and anticipating your every need. Your private chef will serve mouthwatering dishes from a menu tailored to your tastes. Your hosts will manage your whole holiday, from restaurant bookings to ensuring a smart 4 wheel drive vehicle is ready to take you skiing and keeping your glass topped up with a carefully chosen wine or a perfectly mixed gin & tonic.

A la carte breakfast is served daily, gourmet dinners offered on six nights and wine, Champagne and spirits are included. Our driver service offers a fleet of 4x4s to whisk you around the resort. Organic bathroom products, slippers, towels and bathrobes await after a hard day on the slopes.

Above all, our Premier service is personal and we will endeavour to make your stay your perfect holiday.

When to travel

Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.
