Description

Chalet Marie is one of the four 'Sisters’ named after the owner’s daughters. These luxury chalets are all in Scott Dunn’s Premier category and are situated in a beautiful and quiet street on the estate of Les Fermes de Val. The four luxury chalets are in a great location within easy walking distance of the town-centre, although the Scott Dunn driver service is just a call away.

The décor of Chalet Marie is best described as chalet-chic - a beautiful blend of reclaimed timber, natural stone, cosy soft furnishings and mod-cons that will make a stay all the more enjoyable. With four double/twin en-suite bedrooms, this luxury chalet sleeps 8 in extreme comfort and is ideal for skiing holidays for both adults groups and families.

As you enter the property, in front of you is a blue glow from the swimming pool and on your left, the authentic wooden ski-boot room. Add the warmth of the chalet itself to the greeting from your staff for the week and you can’t help but smile – you’re skiing in Val d’Isère after all. The chalet’s wellness area consists of a steam room and a lovely indoor swimming pool with a jet stream and a large arched window so that you can watch the snow fall outside as you stretch aching limbs with a swim before supper.

Walk up the curved staircase to the first floor and you will find the beautifully appointed master bedroom on the right. The luxurious en-suite bedroom has an ornate Moroccan wooden ceiling above the bed and a beautiful bathroom with separate walk in shower and bath. Along the corridor are two more double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, full of wood and character. Rich red curtains drape the windows and warm the view.

Up another flight, the living area is to the right and dining to the left. There is also access to a large balcony. Comfy sofas wrap the big wooden occasional table, and one wall is devoted to entertainment in the form of large flat screen TV with DVD, Xbox 360 and a small library of books. The open fireplace, contributes to the mood and long windows stretch the length of the room offering views of the valley and peaks either side. The living area is where your dining experience begins, with drinks and canapés followed by dinner at the large table to the rear of the lounge.

On the top floor is where the fourth en suite bedroom which is wonderfully intimate, under the eaves of the chalet, giving an authentic cosy feeling.

This superb chalet is complemented by our Premier service including generous breakfasts, exquisite evening meals, fine wines and Champagnes and flawless service.

Childcare

Scott Dunn pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.

Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Solyneou benefit from our exclusive children's club. Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, usually free of charge.

Facilities

Facilities in the chalet include an indoor swimming pool with jet stream, steam room on ground floor, ski/boot room with boot warmers. In the livnig room there is a large flat screen TV, UK Freesat HD, DVD player, Xbox 360 games console and a selection of games, iPad, Apple AV adapter and iPod dock.

Activities

Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.

Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The new Oxygen centre has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.

Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.

There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Services

Chalet Marie is complemented by our Premier service. Our team pride themselves on ensuring that service is seamless and anticipating your every need. Your private chef will serve mouthwatering dishes from a menu tailored to your tastes. Your hosts will manage your whole holiday, from restaurant bookings to ensuring a smart 4 wheel drive vehicle is ready to take you skiing and keeping your glass topped up with a carefully chosen wine or a perfectly mixed gin & tonic.

A la carte breakfast is served daily, gourmet dinners offered on six nights and wine, Champagne and spirits are included. Our driver service offers a fleet of 4x4s to whisk you around the resort. Organic bathroom products, slippers, towels and bathrobes await after a hard day on the slopes.

Above all, our Premier service is personal and we will endeavour to make your stay your perfect holiday.

When to travel

Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.
