Designed and built by the same architect as Eagle's Nest, Chalet Le Rocher is an extraordinary chalet.
As you approach the chalet, its sheer scale is breathtaking and you find yourself in awe of its grandeur, illuminated by dazzling chandeliers hung from the eaves. The heated steps lead to the intricately carved door frame from Afghanistan and the swimming pool can be seen through the panoramic window.
Le Rocher perfectly balances the look of an impossibly grand, authentic chalet with cutting edge style and innovation. Everything has been thought of to enable you to indulge in the ultimate skiing holiday.
The swimming pool has its own projector screen and the steam room is disguised as a tiny chalet. Take the lift to the second floor and you are greeted by the magnificent living area with its vaulted ceiling and fabulously stylish decor. Cowhide sofas and light shades are complemented by sensational modern glass chandeliers and the crackling log fire is the focal point of the room. Out on the balcony and in front of the imposing "rock", the red cedar Storvatt Hot Tub is the ideal place to enjoy a glass of champagne while gazing at the stars.
Our hosts will mix your drink behind the bar before inviting you to take your seat at the enormous dining table which is fit for a banquet and 14 can be seated in extreme comfort in the black velvet throne style chairs.
The living area is equipped with a 64" flat screen and DVD/Blu-Ray library, not to mention satellite TV and B&W Zeppelin iPod dock. All of our chalets are non-smoking inside.
Each bedroom is beautifully finished in a rustic Alpine style with reclaimed wood and intricately carved furnishings. Every room has an en-suite bathroom and AV equipment. The master bedroom suite is supremely spacious and offers his and her dressing rooms in addition to en suite facilities.
Service is delivered by our Flagship team, who pride themselves on tailoring your holiday to your needs. Your private chef will amaze you with gastronomic treats while your hosts deliver impeccable service yet melt into the background, leaving you to savour the unforgettable experience.
Accommodation
Chalet Le Rocher features seven bedrooms each featuring beautiful Alpine wood and Moroccan wooden ceilings. All bathrooms are en-suite with a mixture of traditional wooden beams and modern slate tiles. The master suite is 67m2 of awe-inspiring, pure indulgence - his and hers dressing rooms, private bathroom with separate shower and bath and a projector and screen. The "VIP" suite features the rock bathroom where the rockface, against which the chalet is built, runs the length of the bathroom. Every bedroom has a large flatscreen TV, UK Freesat HD, Playstation 3, Sony iPod dock and French digital TV. Each room also has a safe.

Childcare
Scott Dunn pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.
Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Le Rocher can choose between our exclusive children's club and our private nanny service . Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, mostly free of charge.

Facilities
As one would expect from the ultimate Alpine chalet, Le Rocher has just about everything anyone could want. Facilities in the chalet include a 7x5m indoor swimming pool with jet stream and steam room. The Wellness area has its own cinema projector and integrated sound. The gym is equipped with a range of exercise machines and a solarium. A lift serves every floor and there is a separate ski room with boot warmers. The chalet is extremely well equipped with AV equipment including Playstation 3s, B&W Zeppelin ipod docks, satellite TV and flat screens.

Activities
Val d’Isère is a mecca for downhill skiing for good reason. It has enough to keep skiers of all standards challenged and entertained for a lifetime, let alone a week. The off piste potential is limitless and the snow record enviable.
Val d'Isère has plenty to offer less enthusiastic skiers too. The new Oxygen centre has fantastic facilities including 2 swimming pools, climbing wall, multi activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, squash courts and a Wellness area with sauna, steam bath, spa, cold baths and hydro-massage.
Designated walking trails are a great way of appreciating the scenery and there is an ice rink, husky riding, parapenting, skidooing, cross country skiing and much more.
There is a wealth of quality restaurants in the village and on the mountain (many of which are accessible to non skiers). The shops and galleries offer some great shopping (both the window and the real varieties).

Your private chef will serve mouthwatering dishes from a menu tailored to your tastes. Your hosts will manage every aspect of your holiday, from restaurant bookings to ensuring a smart 4x4 vehicle is ready to take you skiing and keeping your glass topped up with a carefully chosen wine or perfectly mixed gin & tonic.
A la carte breakfast is served daily, gourmet dinners are offered on six nights and wine, Champagne and spirits are included. Our driver service is on hand with a fleet of 4x4s to whisk you around the resort.
Above all though, our Flagship service is personal and we will endeavour to make your stay your perfect holiday.

When to travel
Val d’Isère boasts one of the longest ski seasons in the world because, unlike other resorts above 1800m, 80% of the skiing happens above 2000 metres. As a result, early and late season offer reliable great conditions. Being high, it is cold though and we think March and April are the best times to visit Val.

At the top of the peaceful, private "Fermes de Val", Le Rocher is well located, close enough to wander into the village centre if you wish, or only a 5 minute car journey from the centre of Val d'Isère and the Bellevarde Express lift. Geneva 170km, Chambery 135km, Lyon 234km.
How to get there
Scott Dunn can arrange scheduled & private flights and private & helicopter transfers. Nearest airports include Geneva (2 hr 30 mins transfer), Lyon (2 hrs 45 mins private transfer) or Chambery (1 hr 30 mins private transfer). Helicopter transfers take around 30 mins.
