Description
The resort of Aphrodite Hills on the south coast of Cyprus is an ideal destination for active families or groups of friends looking to take advantage of the wealth of sporting facilities on offer, or wanting to explore the myriad of interesting and historic sites on the island. Scott Dunn has handpicked a selection of properties to suit all party sizes, tastes and budgets. The villas range from simple and compact semi-detached Junior Villas with two or three bedrooms, with striking views across the ravine to the sea beyond, to the more spacious and grand Elite and Mythos villas. Each is unique, with its own pool, spacious outside eating areas and well-equipped kitchens, giving guests the privacy and flexibility that doesn’t necessarily come with a hotel. The resort has a good choice of restaurants for those who prefer to eat out, and Scott Dunn will stock your fridge before you arrive with the essentials as well as anything you request from our hamper list. We also provide a daily cleaning service, allowing you to really enjoy your holiday.
The resort has so much to offer sports enthusiasts. For golfers, hugging the coastal landscape, the challenging 18-hole golf course has breathtaking views. The course comes complete with a golf academy and driving range catering for all abilities and expert tuition. Guests can also take advantage of the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy. A visit to The Retreat Spa is the ultimate in top-to-toe pampering where superb facilities and an expert team of therapists tend to your every need. The heart of the resort is the bustling Village Square with its bars, restaurants and shops and well-stocked supermarket.
The new beach club facility, The Cove is a pebbled beach located a mere 900 metres away from the resort's main entrance (open July & August). Guests can soak up the sun on the newly added sundeck or sip an ice cold cocktail in the shade of the cushioned seating area. The new catering outlet offers a light snack menu and wooden decked walkways lead down to the crystal waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Smaller guests won’t miss out either as the resort has added a sandy children’s play area with a wide choice of equipment and activities available. The Cove is serviced by a regular shuttle service. Zias beach, a 15 minute drive away, is both sandy and pebbled and is very child friendly. It is open until the end of October.
The resort has its own children’s club – The Pirates Village Kids Club – which is a very welcome facility for parents who’d like to have a round of golf or a game of tennis whilst their children take part in some organised activities, from learning Greek dancing to candle decorating and karaoke. The facilities in the resort are particularly child friendly, with a large playground and a separate babies’ pool for the little ones. There are mountain bikes for all the family available to hire (including baby seats and trailer bikes), crazy golf, pitch and putt, and horse riding. Most of the resort’s restaurants also provide a children’s menu.
The island of Cyprus has much to offer for those keen to explore. It has an expansive coastline with a wide variety of beaches from which to choose, ranging from secluded bays to rocky caves and sandy beaches. The beautiful Troodos Mountains offer good walking and biking trails, with some interesting wildlife and off the beaten track villages to explore. It is an island steeped in ancient culture, and there are a number of world heritage sites to visit. Renowned archaeological sites nearby include the Tomb of the Kings in Paphos, and Kourion, whose Greco-Roman theatre has been fully restored and is today once again used for live performances.
Accommodation
The Aphrodite Hills Resort is a large development with private villas ranging from villas with pools, townhouses (Junior Villas) and apartments varying in size from one to five bedrooms, a handful of which are available to rent. Every property at Aphrodite Hills is designed, fitted and finished in totally different styles, standards, privacy and locations across both the western and eastern plateaus. Scott Dunn has selected certain properties with private pools that we feel meet the requirements of our guests. Each property has views of either the golf course, the ravine or the Mediterranean sea, and some boast private gardens. All of the properties are fully air conditioned.
| Junior Villas | These are the smallest and simplest accommodation type at Aphrodite Hills that Scott Dunn recommends. There is a choice of 2 or 3 bedroomed semi-detached junior villas with private pools that are fairly uniform in style. The junior villas located in Theseus village that are positioned in the front row with uninterrupted seaviews offer the best combination for smaller families that are happy to receive compact accommodation, walking distance from the village square.
Please note that fitting a cot in the bedrooms is possible but it is tight. The garden is not fenced and leads onto the natural habitat which can be steep in parts. |
| Superior Villas | The superior villas is the accommodation type that varies the most in size, style, location, privacy and level of comfort. Each property is completely different. They range from 3 to 5 bedrooms with private pool.
Please speak to one of our sales consultants that will be able to provide more specific information on the superior villas that Scott Dunn recommends. |
| Elite Villas | The Elite villa category offers some of the best properties in the resort and is the category that Scott Dunn recommends the most. Each property is unique but is designed with a more luxurios home from home feel with all the comforts you would expect. The Elite villas range in size from 3 to 5 bedrooms each with a large outdoor pool and good sized garden.
For more information on our Elite villas, please contact our sales team. |
| Mythos Villas | There is currently only one property that meets the highest standards required for the Mythos villa category. This is Villa Ouranos which has five bedrooms (the 5th bedroom has separate access) and the most amazing uninterrupted views down the ravine to the sea beyond. Despite the lack of grass area, the terraces and infinity pool more than make up for the outside living space available for all to enjoy.

When to travel
The climate in Cyprus warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From March/April onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May and October are particularly pleasurable months.
