Description

The resort of Aphrodite Hills on the south coast of Cyprus is an ideal destination for active families or groups of friends looking to take advantage of the wealth of sporting facilities on offer, or wanting to explore the myriad of interesting and historic sites on the island. Scott Dunn has handpicked a selection of properties to suit all party sizes, tastes and budgets. The villas range from simple and compact semi-detached Junior Villas with two or three bedrooms, with striking views across the ravine to the sea beyond, to the more spacious and grand Elite and Mythos villas. Each is unique, with its own pool, spacious outside eating areas and well-equipped kitchens, giving guests the privacy and flexibility that doesn’t necessarily come with a hotel. The resort has a good choice of restaurants for those who prefer to eat out, and Scott Dunn will stock your fridge before you arrive with the essentials as well as anything you request from our hamper list. We also provide a daily cleaning service, allowing you to really enjoy your holiday.

The resort has so much to offer sports enthusiasts. For golfers, hugging the coastal landscape, the challenging 18-hole golf course has breathtaking views. The course comes complete with a golf academy and driving range catering for all abilities and expert tuition. Guests can also take advantage of the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy. A visit to The Retreat Spa is the ultimate in top-to-toe pampering where superb facilities and an expert team of therapists tend to your every need. The heart of the resort is the bustling Village Square with its bars, restaurants and shops and well-stocked supermarket.

The new beach club facility, The Cove is a pebbled beach located a mere 900 metres away from the resort's main entrance (open July & August). Guests can soak up the sun on the newly added sundeck or sip an ice cold cocktail in the shade of the cushioned seating area. The new catering outlet offers a light snack menu and wooden decked walkways lead down to the crystal waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Smaller guests won’t miss out either as the resort has added a sandy children’s play area with a wide choice of equipment and activities available. The Cove is serviced by a regular shuttle service. Zias beach, a 15 minute drive away, is both sandy and pebbled and is very child friendly. It is open until the end of October.

The resort has its own children’s club – The Pirates Village Kids Club – which is a very welcome facility for parents who’d like to have a round of golf or a game of tennis whilst their children take part in some organised activities, from learning Greek dancing to candle decorating and karaoke. The facilities in the resort are particularly child friendly, with a large playground and a separate babies’ pool for the little ones. There are mountain bikes for all the family available to hire (including baby seats and trailer bikes), crazy golf, pitch and putt, and horse riding. Most of the resort’s restaurants also provide a children’s menu.

The island of Cyprus has much to offer for those keen to explore. It has an expansive coastline with a wide variety of beaches from which to choose, ranging from secluded bays to rocky caves and sandy beaches. The beautiful Troodos Mountains offer good walking and biking trails, with some interesting wildlife and off the beaten track villages to explore. It is an island steeped in ancient culture, and there are a number of world heritage sites to visit. Renowned archaeological sites nearby include the Tomb of the Kings in Paphos, and Kourion, whose Greco-Roman theatre has been fully restored and is today once again used for live performances.

When to travel

The climate in Cyprus warm and sunny for the majority of the year with the risk of the odd shower of rain and some cooler periods over the winter. From March/April onwards the weather settles but it can sometimes be cool in the evenings. By May, the weather generally settles in a pattern of long hot sunny days and balmy evenings especially in July and August when it can be very hot. Rain is unlikely but it can happen from time to time. May and October are particularly pleasurable months.
