The remote Manihi Pearl Beach Resort is hidden away on a palm-fringed islet in the north Tuamoto archipelago. Its 3 1/2 mile wide by 19 mile long lagoon shelters many of the region's black pearl farms and this area is renowned for this Polynesian gem.
Manihi Pearl Beach has 22 bungalows situated along the white sand, palm studded beachfront and 14 enchanting over-water bungalows facing the expansive lagoon and the pearl farms beyond. All bungalows have spacious terraces from which to enjoy the extraordinary vistas of the azure lagoon and beyond.

Accommodation
Accommodation at Manihi Pearl Beach Resort is split into 22 Beach Bungalows (5 standard, 17 superior), 14 Overwater and 5 Premium Overwater Bungalows. All of the Beach Bungalows are set along the palm fringed beachfront and give guests direct access to the lagoon. The standard bungalows look out to the overwater accommodation and are near the restaurant, the superior bungalows have slightly better positions but the facilities are the same and include fans (no air conditioning), mini bars, TVs, showers (no baths) and a gorgeous private sun terraces. Overwater Bungalows have spacious sundecks over the lagoon and have glass floors in places so you can see the myriad of colourful fish below. The Premium Overwater Bungalows offer more privacy and have the addition of a CD player.
Childcare
Children are welcome at the Manihi Pearl Beach Resort but there are no specific facilities for them although babysitting and cots can be provided on request. Children will love the freedom of the island - shallow calm waters, white soft sand beaches and amazing underwater wildlife.

The Poe Rava Restaurant is the resort's atmospheric restaurant with beautiful terrace over the lagoon - here sumptuous Polynesian and International cuisine is served and the Miki Miki Bar by the beach is a great place for cocktails. Private dinners can also be arranged in your bungalow or in a chosen romantic spot on the beach. The hotel has a wonderful freshwater infinity swimming pool, fantastic masseurs, mini golf and the Manihi Blue Nui Dive Centre on site - diving in this region is outstanding, with clear, pristine water, impressive seascapes and endless underwater wildlife making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experts.
Activities
Activities complimentary to all guests include use of kayaks, snorkelling gear, canoes and bicycles and mini golf and volleyball are also available. Many fun activities and beautiful, unique excursions can be easily arranged by the hotel and these include scuba diving, deep sea fishing, island tours, private picnics, sunset cruises, boat charters and much more.
When to travel
Warm tropical year round temperatures, the Tuamotu Archipelago are a tropical destination so humidity, rain, sunshine and heat are all to be considered. There are two seasons: the Summer which is from November through March and Winter which is from April through October. The average temperature in Summer is about 30°C and in the drier Winter the average temperature is about 28°C. Most rainfall is during the Summer months with high humidity. The best time weather wise with the least risk of storms is in their Winter months. June to August is windy season and can be extremely gusty.

How to get there
22-hour international flight (one change) to Tahiti's Faa'a International Airport. From there it's a 1-hour 15-minute domestic flight to Manihi.
