Description

Just a 1 hour 15 minute flight from Nadi, the lush tropical island of Taveuni is known as Fiji’s “Garden Island” as it offers breathtaking rainforest and coastal scenery punctuated by cascading waterfalls. Privately guided treks can easily be arranged including horseback riding, fishing and other excursions. Our favourite walks include the Lavena Coastal Walk and Bouma Falls trail. Kayaks, bicycles and snorkelling equipment are provided for guests, with the very best snorkelling to be found directly off the beach right in front of your villa. Complimentary cooking lessons and in-villa massage and spa treatments are also available during your stay.

In addition to these activities, the island of Taveuni is a paradise for SCUBA divers and is renowned for the famous Rainbow Reef and Great White Wall. Certified divers can enjoy the luxury (and convenience) of boarding their own private dive boat complete with a local Dive Master. Those who would like an introduction to the underwater world of SCUBA can do so in the comfort of their private pool before enjoying an introductory dive on the reef.

Each of Taveuni Palms three villas features two stylish double bedrooms, expansive living areas and indoor-outdoor ensuite bathrooms designed to showcase the star-filled skies. Perfect for romantic couples, families or friends travelling together, each villa can accommodate up to four people, and a complimentary nanny service is provided for families if required. Each villa also includes “creature comforts” of home such as a TV, DVD and CD player, and a library of DVDs, books and games. Rattan day beds and swinging basket chairs overlooking the ocean provide the perfect perch to enjoy the panoramic ocean views.

The new Grand Villa is the most luxurious of the three villas at Taveuni Palms. Featuring two superbly decorated guest suites, the bedrooms are anchored by a central living room, dining area, kitchen and den, with cream and white decor and hand polished wooden floorboards throughout.

There is no need to worry about a thing as your dedicated staff of seven anticipates your every wish. Your personal chef will design gourmet meals to your preferences and the cuisine is full of vibrant Pacific flavours and local produce, and a housekeeper, bartender and kitchen staff will cater to your every need. Meals can be served at a variety of stunning private locations around the resort and are often accompanied by the enchanting music of a Fijian band. This is truly paradise found.

When to travel

Maximum temperatures rarely move out of the 31°C (88°F) to 26°C (79°F) range all year round. Southeast trade winds from March to November bring dry weather and the rainy season runs from December to April.

Fiji does have a wet season, which is characterised by heavy, brief local showers and contributes most of the country’s annual rainfall. The wet season is normally from November to April and results from the southerly movements of the South Pacific Convergence Zone. Cyclones do occur in Fiji and are normally confined to wet season.

The best months for holidaying in regards to Fiji weather is late March through to early December.
