Description

Seafields is an absolute beachfront property close to Auckland's beautiful southernmost rural beaches. A luxurious, waterfront getaway resting on the shores of the Hauraki Gulf, Seafields offers guests luxury accommodation, stunning views, peace and seclusion in a tranquil environment. Only 20 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes by car or ferry from downtown Auckland, Seafields enjoys panoramic ocean views overlooking the boats moored in the channel and beyond to Waiheke Island. Surrounded by abundant, indigenous plant life, landscaped gardens and native birds, Seafields is the perfect place to base yourselves to explore the surrounding area.

Seafields offers a range of accommodation, including a self-contained family cottage that can sleep three or four. All are private and secluded and all have sea views, superb bathrooms and outstanding facilities and furnishings. You are surrounded by antiques, oriental rugs and original works of art, while enjoying complimentary port, tea and coffee and home baking. The famous home-cooked breakfasts are made from locally grown and Fairtrade ingredients, whenever possible, and served in the sunny dining room or on its sea view terrace.

There are a myriad of activities to choose from in the locality, from golf at one of three superb internationally known PGA courses, to world-renowned gardens or a gourmet lunch on Waiheke, the famed wine island. There are also plenty of local walks and sightseeing trips plus kayaking, sailing, fishing, heli-fishing, skydiving, gliding, garden or vineyard visits – even polo during summer. In addition to this, many of Auckland’s renowned beaches and landmarks are close by.

When to travel

The climate in New Zealand is incredibly pleasant, with warm and balmy summers and cold crisp winter months with wonderful clear, blue skies. The warmer high-season months of November to April are perfect for outdoor exploration. The colder months of June to August are the best time to ski.

Both North and South Islands are drier on the east coast, rather than on the west, where mountain ranges act as a trap for the moisture-rich winds from the Tasman Sea. It is also worth remembering that it is usually a few degrees cooler on the South Island than the North Island and as New Zealand has a maritime climate, the weather can change rapidly.
