Description
Seascape Lodge is set on 5 tranquil acres in a spectacular coastal location on the sheltered north coast of Kangaroo Island. KI (as it is affectionately known by the locals) is just a ½ hour flight, south of Adelaide, in South Australia.
The Lodge is ideal for everyone looking for luxury, peace and privacy. Your hosts provide a personalised experience that starts the moment you step foot on this unique island and with only three suites, there are never more than seven guests at a time.
The three contemporary, spacious suites have wonderful positions and every creature comfort you could wish for. The large glass sliding doors lead out onto a private veranda and have panoramic views of the breathtaking beach at Emu Bay.
Eating is a major part of the Seascape experience and the chef's elegant home style cooking uses the freshest island ingredients and three course dinners are enjoyed in a communal setting accompanied by Kangaroo Island wines and regional beers. The friendly hospitality and house party feel here at Seascape Lodge makes you feel like a house guest rather than a hotel guest.
Combine this relaxed, homely environment with private 4WD wildlife touring and you have an experience that will make the most of all that Kangaroo Island has to offer. The wildlife, which lives here in abundance, includes Kangaroos, Koalas, Wallabies and Echidnas amongst other unique animals and birds, all seen here in their natural environment.
Accommodation
Accommodation at Seascape Bay is in three spacious suites with private verandas. All suites have en suite bathrooms, an outdoor veranda with seating area, wireless internet and TV/DVD facilities.
Childcare
Children are welcomed at Seascape Lodge and will feel at home in this warm, family environment. One of the suites sleeps three guests and the personal nature of the property means that your hosts will do their best to accommodate any special requests you may have for your family. Children will love looking for kangaroos and wallabies and swimming with dolphins or sandboarding could also be a highlight for them.
Facilities
This is a small lodge with very few facilities as the emphasis here is on being in a private home. Breakfasts include homemade breads and jams and eggs for the lodge's 'chucks' and yoghurt from their sheep. Lunches are often taken out and about and the picnics and barbeques are always fantastic. Dinners are eaten communally with your hosts and are a fun and relaxed way to end the day.
Activities
Activities at Seascape Lodge very much centre around the private wildlife tours which are included in your stay. These are personalised according to the guests and usually involve 4WD safaris with your own personal naturalist guide. As well as wildlife on land, your guide can take you to some of the best marine parks, beaches, local wineries and distilleries as well as to walking trails and conservation parks.
When to travel
Kangaroo Island's climate is best described as temperate. Temperatures tend to be a few degrees cooler in summer and warmer in winter than on mainland South Australia. The sea plays a large role in the island's daily weather pattern. Conditions can change frequently during the day, so pack warm clothes, even during a summer holiday.
