The summer months (December-February), although popular, can get very hot and sticky. The idyllic times to come here are spring (September-October) and in particular autumn (March-May). Autumn sees the vineyards operating at full tilt as the harvest is gathered in. Winter (June-Aug) is very cosy at Tower Lodge, with fires in the drawing room and some bedrooms.
Annual food and musical events include 'Gastronomy and the Good Vintage' in February-March, 'Hunter Valley Harvest Festival' in March-April, 'Jazz in the Vines' (held at Tyrrells winery) and 'Opera in the Vineyards' (on the historic Wyndhams Estate), both in October.
