Description

Tower Lodge is an exclusive haven perfectly tucked away on the Tower Estate at Pokolbin in the heart of the stunning Hunter Valley wine region. After sampling the Tower Estate wines, guests can literally spend days roaming the different wine districts that make up this area and there are over 80 wineries each providing a wine tasting experience that is unique. Choose from an organised wine tour or simply visit the wineries at your own pace by car, horse drawn carriage, bicycle or limousine!

The lodge boasts ten extraordinary guestrooms and two suites, all individually furnished with antiques, treasures and collectables. The rooms are all different but each has a bedroom, lounge area, dressing room and large bathroom with double spa bath. Some rooms have wood burning fireplaces and the Oriental Suite has an outdoor plunge tub. Many rooms have other quirky individual features such as private courtyards, fountains or balconies.

Robert's Restaurant at Tower Lodge is one of the most iconic restaurants in the region and serves the finest regional cuisine and has views across the beautiful Brokenback Range. In Summer the cloistered courtyard is the perfect setting for breakfasts and evening drinks. It goes without saying that the wine list here is extensive and accompanies Hunter's premier gastronomic experience perfectly.

Tower Lodge also has an intimate lounge and bar, cosy library and impressive recreational facilities. These include The Dinks, an 18-hole pitch and putt golf course, a 1.6 km walking track, a heated pool, a sauna, gym as well as a massage treatment room.

Along with the renowned Robert’s Restaurant and the highly acclaimed Tower Estate Winery, Tower Lodge creates the perfect trinity that is Tower Estate - a place dedicated to the enjoyment of the finer things in life!

Children arte more than welcome at Tower Lodge but there are no specific facilities for them. As the main purpose for visiting this region is for wine tasting and visiting the vineyards not all children would enjoy this region.

Facilities

Roberts Restaurant is one of the premier dining experiences in Australia so is not to be missed. Nine is Tower Lodge's private dining room - the restaurant is located nine feet below the earth which makes for a cosy, intimate dining experience. Weekend high teas here are also a fantastic event. Tower Lodge also has an 18 hole pitch and putt golf course, a 1.6km walking track, a heated pool, gym and sauna and massage room.

Activities

Wine tasting is the predominant activity in the area but Tower Lodge also has several golf courses within a 15 minute drive and there are numerous drives and walks in the area to discover local food such as cheeses and olives as well as great pubs, restaurants. Visiting charming local villages, historic towns and bushwalking are also a great way to while away the days.

When to travel

In the southern half of Australia the seasons are the opposite of those in the northern hemisphere: spring comes in September, summer is from December to February, autumn runs from March to May, and winter begins in June.

New South Wales is great to visit year round but if you want warm sun and dry weather it is best to try between November and April. Their winter months of May to October usually have mild weather so you can still enjoy all the sights.
