Spacious, elegant and beautifully appointed, the Rooms and Suites at The Observatory Hotel are furnished with mahogany furniture, rich tapestry curtains and colonial-style sash windows overlooking Observatory Hill and the historic Walsh Bay. Many of the Junior and Executive Suites have private balconies, the perfect spot from which to watch the sun set over the harbour.
Renowned for its fine dining, both Galileo and The Globe Bar have an excellent range of cuisine with dishes from all over the world. The Galileo Restaurant is opulent and elegant and serves French Cuisine and the contrasting Globe Brasserie and Bar specialises in decadent afternoon teas, light meals and contemporary Australian fare - both are fantastic.
The hotel’s spa is also an indulgence with a wonderful indoor domed swimming pool with and treatments designed to revive, including the 'flight reviver' programme designed to help guests adjust to their new time zone. There is a fully equipped gym, pilates classes and a tennis court also available.
Accommodation
The Observatory has 78 Deluxe Rooms, 9 Junior Suites, 12 Executive Suites and The Observatory Suite. All are elegantly decorated with traditional antique style furniture and paintings and the Junior Suites have an open plan living room, the Executive Suites have a separate living room and the Observatory Suite has a living room, kitchen and can be connected to deluxe rooms if there is a large party. Many of the Junior and Executive Suites have balconies.
Childcare
The Observatory is a very child friendly hotel, offering younger guests the use of baby equipment, games, toys and bath toys, children's toiletries and children's portions in the Globe Bar. Babysitting can also be organised on request. The concierge fully understand the needs of families and can point you in the right direction for all that Sydney has to offer.

When to travel
In the southern half of Australia the seasons are the opposite of those in the northern hemisphere: spring comes in September, summer is from December to February, autumn runs from March to May, and winter begins in June.
Sydney is great to visit year round but if you want warm sun and dry weather it is best to try between November and April. Their winter months of May - October usually have mild weather so you can still enjoy all the sights.
