Description

The View's location on the side of a mountain is unique and as the name suggests, the view is truly spectacular. The private tents each have their own terrace above the rocky valley landscape below. Each tent is very comfortably furnished and the ensuite bathroom is fitted with a shower and WC with hot and cold running water. The camp is the ideal place to start trekking expeditions and excursions towards the peak of Jabal Shams Mountains.

Activities in the local area include trekking, donkey safaris, mountain biking and visits to cultural sites. Local attractions include Misfat Al Abreen, the old villages of Al Hamra, the stunning Al Hoota Caves, the famous Fort of Bahla and Jabreen Castle, the beautiful Wadi of Tanuf and Wadi Ghul, Jabal Shams and Jabal Akdhar.

When to travel

The best time to visit Oman is between November and mid-March, when the cooler air brings the mountain scenery sharply into focus and daytime temperatures average 25°C. For the rest of the year, much of Oman is oppressively hot and hazy, particularly between May and August.

Perched on a ridge high above the town of Hamra, a 45-minute drive from Nizwa and 2-hours from Muscat.

How to get there

7.5-hour direct flight Muscat International Airport. The camp is approximately 2-hours by road from the airport.
