Madaba

Madaba is located 30 miles south of Amman on the ancient King’s Highway, close to the banks of the Dead Sea. It’s famous for its mosaics, especially the map representing the holy land located in the Basilica of St George. Madaba offers easy access for day trips to Jerash, Petra and the Dead Sea, and overnight excursions can include Dana Nature Reserve and Wadi Rum.

Since Roman times, people have travelled to Madaba for thermal treatments in the mineral hot springs southwest of the city.
