Aqaba

Aqaba is Jordan’s fastest growing city, and huge investment is being poured into this Red Sea port which is buzzing with the realisation of fast economic growth, and large ships coming and going from the harbour. The city at present has two 5* resorts, but many more are planned to open over the next few years. The diving is excellent, possibly the best to be found on the Red Sea, and the weather is always superb.

If you don’t want to spend the night under canvas in Wadi Rum, Aqaba’s hotels are a great alternative. The beaches here, which are small and narrow, are not the best to be found on the Red Sea, but it’s a lively place a place to explore and relax in before returning to Amman.
