Description

The Ker and Downey Rafting trip takes two days and is a fantastic experience for those after a little adventure. On the first day you will raft for around three or four hours to the camp, in grade 1 rapids (the lowest level of white water). The rafts are imported from America and are 14 foot long, crewed by experienced guides and boat boys. As a guest you can choose to paddle or simply enjoy the scenery. On the second day you will again raft for around three to four hours, this time with some sections of grade 2 rapids.

The Ker and Downey River camp is situated right on the banks of the Seti River, between Pokhara and Chitwan. There is no road access and the area is totally unspoiled and remote. The camp is set within a grove of trees and is just moments from the beach and river. Accommodation consists of safari style tents with separate washing facilities and all the amenities required for your stay. There is a main dining area where both continental and Nepalese cuisine is served. Given the remote location there is no electricity and so kerosene lamps, torches and candles are provided. Throughout your stay you will be looked after by the fantastic Ker and Downey staff, who are very knowledgeable and passionate about the places they take you to see.

When to travel

Nepal has a Monsoonal climate with four main seasons. Autumn and spring are the two most favourable seasons for visiting Nepal. Autumn (September to early December) brings in clear weather with sunny days and warm nights. Spring (March to May) with occasional rain falls. From June to September, is the monsoon season. Uncomfortable time to visit as the climate of Nepal at this time of year brings about hot weather and rain falls almost every day.
