Description
The resort of One&Only Reethi Rah is 50 minutes by luxury yacht from the airport at Male. A stunning redevelopment of an existing resort, the oversized and luxurious beach and water villas are another winning combination from the owners of the well-established One&Only group.
With over 6km of coastline, each beach villa is guaranteed privacy while maintaining glorious sea views. The water villas are built out on a series of eight jetties and have private decks overlooking the azure waters of the lagoon. In all, there are just 130 rooms.
The resort has excellent leisure facilities for everybody. The kid’s club takes children from four years old (although younger children may attend if accompanied by a supervising adult, e.g. parent or babysitter). There is also a dedicated area for older children to mix and socialise. For adults, there is a fantastic spa set within in its own tranquil gardens. For the more active, there is a football pitch, two tennis courts, and a large freeform pool and a lap pool for serious swimmers. There is a fully certified PADI dive school to cater for beginners and very experienced divers alike. Yoga, tai chi and pilates classes are offered, and there is a fully equipped gym with personal trainers. Non-motorised water sports are complimentary with additional sports available at a cost and paid locally, e.g. snorkelling excursions, fishing, jet-skiing and parasailing.

When to travel
The Maldives has a tropical climate distinguished by two seasons, or monsoons: the dry northeast monsoon from December to March, and the wet southwestern monsoon from May to November, with more strong winds and rain. April is a transitional period noted for clear water and heat. The temperature remains remarkably consistent at around 30°C.
February to April is the hottest period and resorts are almost all operating at capacity during this period. Mid-December to early January comes at even more of a premium due to Christmas and New Year and prices are even higher. Easter and the Italian holiday week in August also attract peak prices at most resorts.
Storms are more likely from May to November, though it’s still warm, skies can be cloudy and the humidity is higher. This is the low season, with fewer people and lower prices, with the exception of August.
Diving is good year-round, although a basic rule is that life on the reef is more varied and visibility better on the western side of any atoll from May to November and from the eastern side of any atoll December to April.
The surfing season runs from March to October, which is when resorts are cheapest.
