Description

Set among the Kumoan hills, Kalmatia Sangam dates from 1867 when Captain Jackson erected a colonial house when he discovered the stunning beauty of the views.

All 10 cottages have been constructed in a British colonial style with some Kumaoni inspiration. They are slightly different and are furnished very comfortably. Most have both sleeping and living areas with terraces overlooking the mountains. The hotel has a restaurant offering good freshly prepared local food. The spa offers yoga, meditation, aroma massage and the services of a reflexologist.

The surrounding mountain landscape provides some fantastic trekking and you can visit the nearby Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary which is home to abundant flora and fauna. You can catch glimpses of leopard, chital, musk deer, jungle cat, black bear, pine marten, fox, langur, monkey, porcupine, flying squirrel and barking deer amongst others. The hotel also offers village walks to experience the local culture first hand. You will walk through picturesque settlements, along terraced fields, waterfalls, streams and pine, cedar, oak, and rhododendron forests. You'll get to explore the ancient temples of Kali, Vishnu and Shakti.
