Description

Deodars Guest House is set in the perfect locations, with stunning Himalayan views from its pretty garden and surrounded by ‘Deodars’ or Cedar trees. Deodar’s is run by some warm and eager to please hosts who regale stories of past guests who have stayed in their home.

The entrance hall with its gracious wood-panelled ceiling and hunting trophies along the walls takes you back to the days of Jim Corbett. The quaint verandah affords fabulous views of the Himalayas and the valley below. Enjoy cosy evenings around the stone fireplace in the living room, where you can sit by a roaring pinewood fire while you browse our book collection. A mixture of Indian and Continental cuisine is served but you can also try your hand in the kitchen too. Yoga and reflexology session can be arranged at the house on request.

Deodars Guest House is surrounded by numerous trails that lead you into the forests, villages and ferny ravines below. The forests are a birdwatcher's paradise and you can also go on treks, walks, and sightseeing excursions with experienced guides.

The feel of the guest house is colonial, and as such offers simple, yet cosy accommodation.

3 Big bedrooms have high ceilings and fireplaces, one has a private porch, another a bathroom with a big bath tub.

Children are welcome but there are no specific facilities.

How to get there

To get here, you need to fly to Delhi (9-hours), then travel to the hill station of Kathagodam by plane or train (overnight). Kathagodam is 2.5-hours from Deodar's Guest House.
